Revolution.
Edited on Wed Feb-10-10 10:19 PM by Writer

It's time.

We need to stop relying on institutions to fix the problem of over-expansive and politically-disruptive capitalism, and start relying on ourselves.

10. I've tried to say something to this effect
in what few OPs I have written, but folks here have yet to respond in any way. It confuses me because I don't feel like I'm saying anything they disagree with. All three branches of government have abandoned the call of their roles as servants to any public, now echoing the will of profit driven entities who have demonstrated their avid willingness to strip a society of its ability to govern itself sensibly.

I don't want blood and guts, there's been quite enough of that.

When I say reboot, I mean rebuild, resolve to remedy rather than retaliate. Renew our operational techniques to be a more efficient working model of the intended design.

I wish you better luck than I have known getting folks to talk about it.

11. Yes, folks are content with the status quo
at least content enough to do nothing but send e-mails to MSRNC begging them to be a news source (which they ere never intended to be).

A little surprising on the surface, but the internets have made us weak and timid, so a careful look shows that this is exactly what Big Media has been hoping for.

There are a few who seem to be aware of where we're at, but far to few to do anything useful

As for not wanting any bloodshed, who does? But seriesly, is wringing our hands really going to accomplish anything?

35. Speaking of it is one thing (1st Amendment), but planning it is rather seditious...
... isn't it? And probably not suitable as a serious topic on this particular board. So far no one on this thread seems to have crossed that particular line, however.

Also -- "we" are not done.

37. You still haven't specified what kind of "fight" you have in mind. "Pen mightier than sword"? or ...
... grenade launchers at dawn?

You're just tossing provocative slogans, and I want to know if you plan for my neighborhood to look like downtown Kabul, or Sarajevo in the '90s.

I already lived through the political excesses of the late 1960s in the US, and a couple of things stand out: some would-be revolutionaries got killed, "the people" did not Rise Up, and the US government did not collapse. (However, other kinds of activism helped get civil rights legislation passed, end a war and bring down a president.)

Another thing stands out in my memory: Some unguessable number of those would-be revolutionaries were agents provocateur from COINTELPRO.

Some of us have longer memories than others.
