Why are the Tea Baggers so happy with Palin when she only did it for the money???

If she was in an active election, then I understand charging $100,000 to finance her campaign. It happens all the time. But the audience knows that it is a fundraiser and it is promoted as such.

But how can the Tea Baggers be excited about Palin speaking to them when she only did it for the money?? It is not like she endorses their cause so much that she came there to support them and did a speech because she believes in their cause.

So without the $100,000 she would have skipped the meeting in a heartbeat and not felt bad at all.

More importantly, they're alienated, they feel their Donna Reed vision of America (already dead for 50 years) is slipping away from them, and the complexities of real life in the 21st century keep them continually on edge. Nuance is too hard and multilayered ideas unsatisfying.

So they go for perky vindictiveness instead, because they can understand it. And Palin understands them. She may be ignorant, she may even be slightly stupid, but she knows how to stoke their fears. And she knows they don't mind what she's paid any more than they really mind what professional wrestlers are paid, because it's value for money as far as they're concerned.

Tea baggers are all about emotion and not about policy or consistency. So Palin doesn't really bother about policy or consistency.

And her fans love her. Sad and scary.
