Embattled Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) isn't removing himself from the political scene.
The senator, who is under Justice Department and Senate Ethics Committee for his affair with a former staffer, contributed the maximum $10,000 from his political action committee to congressional candidate Joe Heck in the fourth quarter.
Heck, a state senator, is the GOP standard bearer running against freshman Rep. Dina Titus (R-Nev.). He is the only federal candidate to receive a contribution from Ensign this cycle.
Ensign's PAC also contributed $15,000 to the NRCC. Previously, he has contributed to the recount effort in Minnesota, as well as Rep. Zach Wamp's (R-Tenn.) gubernatorial campaign.
