Boehner: I'm All For Bipartisanship -- As Long As It Favors The GOP

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) provided an interesting take on bipartisanship today, saying that "when it comes to bipartisan legislation you've got to look at the balance. If the balance leans in our direction, and things that we believe in, I would think that we would support it."

Democratic leaders...this is straight from the asshat's mouth

They do not want bipartisanship...they only want you to do what they want

Stand up to them and tell them no!

1. Molly Ivins once observed: "Republicans don't want to govern; they want to rule"
At least Boehner is consistent...

6. Sideshow Bob (The Simpsons) said it best
"People of Springfield, you're guilty conscience may force you to vote Democratic but deep down inside, you want a cold-hearted Republican who will lower taxes, brutalize criminals, and RULE YOU LIKE A KING!!!"

Pretty much sums it up about Republicans IMHO. ;-)

3. My best friend used to bend over backwards for a girlfriend but it wasn't enough -
She said "Relationships take compromise, Jim, so what are you going to do to compromise?"

Seriously -- it never occurred to her that BOTH parties needed to compromise.

When I hear these Repubs say "we've tried to work with the Dems" I'm always reminded of Jim's former girlfriend.

5. I hope Obama reads that quote. If he doesn't listen to us, maybe he'll listen to Boehner. nt

7. Reminds me of an old Star Trek episode

where they are trying to unite a planet. Kirk says to one of the planet's leaders something like, 'So you agree there is a need for unity', and the leader replies, "Yeah, but I have to be the unity".

8. No change in that since the 1990's
And considering the naivety, lack of fortitude and almost apologetic nature of so many of the Dems, why should there be?

I wouldn't give a single inch to the Democrats on ANYTHING if I were a Republican.

Let 'em bleed, whine and grovel- while selling their own constituencies out.
