For some posting on DU, the U.S. is simply the Great Satan, the prime evil
in all history's long reach, and President Obama is just another servant to the evil construct.

Those folks do NOT serve up anything even remotely related to constructive criticism. Fortunately, they are a minority, but they sure are loud.

I get so sick of their dogma.

Edited on Sun Jan-17-10 05:03 PM by ShortnFiery
There are accounts that we are still holding secret detainees and have not YET closed GITMO.

The USA has behaved "very bad" in the past. That doesn't make us inherently EVIL, but it also does not allow us to BRAG nor WEAR *The WHITE HATS* either. ;)

You seem to be using literally in the Valley Girl sense rather than the actual definition. I've never seen anyone on this site say that the US is responsible for "EVERY bad thing in the world."

5. Then we have to pull our combat troops out of the Middle East. We are creating more TERRORISTS
than we are killing.

What we are doing with those KILLER DRONES is both vile and evil beyond words.

It must END! If it continues, then whatever blowback we receive will be KARMA.

We still have time to turn this around.

President Obama must stand up to the MIC and stop the Occupations and Drone Killings. If he does NOT, then we are a truly EVIL nation who values "American Lives" as MORE PRECIOUS than those of people within the Middle East.

We are guilty if we don't STOP THE KILLING in the ME by our combat troops's munitions and Killer Drones.

47. There was and remains a LOT of irony in Reagan's pronouncement about the evil empire
and there's certainly an argument that failure to hold individuals and entities accountable (everyone from banksters to torturers to food poisoners) accountable, an administration becomes complicit in their past (or present) behaviors.
