He's up to 52% approval and down to 41% disapproval. Ya think anyone in the "liberal" media will even mention it?: http://www.gallup.com/Home.aspx

70. I'm finding that ...
on both the right and the Left, we have devolved into an egoist all or nothing society; if I am not getting what I want, right now, than everyone around me should all agrue that the person we all worked hard to put in office is a complete and utter failure.

Nevermind that it is the duty and responsibility to push CONGRESS to enact the legislation that We D. People want.

19. Not to mention that the First Family just won the heralded "Desirable Neighbors" Poll
Desirable neighbors poll: Obamas in, reality stars out
Published on Tue, Dec 29, 2009 at 12:00 | Updated at Tue, Dec 29, 2009 at 13:01 | Source : Reuters

Americans would most like to live next door to the Obama family. But a reality star like California's "Octomom", or Jon and Kate Gosselin and their brood of eight would be a big turn off, according to a poll released on Tuesday.

President Barack Obama, his wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha, came top of a poll that asked Americans who would be their most desirable celebrity neighbor.

The US first family were followed by TV chat show host Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia de Rossi, who tied with Republican Sarah Palin, in the poll by online real estate marketplace Zillow.com. But, as in life, families with large broods were deemed the worst likely neighbors.

Nadya Suleman, the California single mom who this year added octuplets to her existing brood of six children, topped the worst celebrity neighbor poll with 17 percent of votes.

Suleman, dubbed "Octomom" by the US media, was followed by recently divorced reality TV stars Jon and Kate Gosselin and their eight kids.

In a reflection of her tendency to polarize Americans, Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice-presidential contender who has five children, also came third in the worst neighbors list with 11 percent of votes.

"Americans have made it clear that they think politicians and talk show hosts make the best neighbors," said Amy Bohutinsky, Zillow.com vice president of communications.

"Apparently Americans are opposed to living next door to a brood of young children, particularly those that come with a television crew and paparazzi," she added.

rather than the obvious which is betrayal of single payer, public option, Medicare

for All, CHOICE by the Dems --

Sad -- in fact, pitiful --

But, certainly a direct route for corporations to completely destroy the Democratic

Party while it destroys any attempt to rein in corporations in health care!!

And that's the two main points, isn't it?

your judgment is clouded. These alleged terrorist attacks have been used to influence elections and public opinion numerous times over the past 9 years. Since we now have a Democrat in the White House, he should get the benefit of the doubt, but not blind faith.

I didn't say Obama is bush and I'd like to believe he wouldn't manipulate us in any way, but to cast all doubt aside just because he is a Democrat is foolish. The freepers still believe bush didn't "use attempted terrorist attacks to scare the people", but we know for a fact he did.

62. Ed is one of the only public voices who has been consistent on HCR issues.
He is not promoting anything that the president hasn't asked to support through our activism.

But the president and the Dems in congress have changed their tune and embraced a bill that spits in the face of their strongest supporters and betrays almost every promise made in the past two years.

Figures some of the more ill-informed would try to lay the blame on a steadfast and loyal person like Ed Schultz.

He is not the one who changed the game.

55. And when Gallup sorts by party & ideology, Obama is at 87% approval among Liberal Dems
http://www.gallup.com/poll/121199/Obama-Weekly-Job-Approval-Demographic-Groups.aspx

Gallup Poll for December 21-27

Approval for Obama under the category of Party ID and Ideology together: Liberal Dems are at 87% approval, Moderate Dems-83%, Conservative Dems-73%, Pure Independents-47%, Liberal/Moderate Repubs-35%, Conservative Repubs-13%.

For all categories of Democrats, his approval rating is sky-high. (Everywhere but here.)

Liberal Dems -- 87% approval
Moderate Dems -- 83%
Conservative Dems -- 73%

Republicans and *some* DUers are bitterly unhappy with Obama. The rest of the voters are pretty damn happy with him. :D

And no, I don't suppose the MSM will bother to see it this way.

64. We shall see what we shall see.
When a distracted public finds out their present benefits will be taxed and cut...

And that millions will be forced to buy bad and/or unaffordably expensive insurance from the same companies that have been screwing them for years, the numbers will reflect that awareness.

This is a ticking time bomb.

66. Let me put this into perspective for some here.
52% approval rating as we near supposed "historic legislation" is not something to get excited about. Bush was at 91% after 911. So what did that mean? I'll tell you. The American people, when it comes to politics, are for the most part disenfranchised, lazy, stupid and highly reactionary. They, for the most part, do not deal well with unintended consequences and long-term outlook. They react to the here and now. They know the health care system is for the most part too expensive and Obama is trying to fix health care system. When their premiums continue to go up, which they most certainly will, they will lash out at the person that was supposed to fix this mess.

The American electorate was easily swayed by SNL skits and swift boat ads. To get such a small bump from what was supposed to be landmark legislation is worrisome. I want Obama to succeed but I fear his true support, the people that show up and vote and donate money, not people that answer polls on the heels of headlines, will ultimately abandon him or at least be less supportive in their efforts if he doesn't get a progressive agenda passed.

84. Imagine his numbers if he actually paid attention to the people's will!
With the public's numbers for peace, single-payer (or at least public-option) and other key issues in the 70's, Obama could put himself in the 70's too, if he would actually give a damn what the people want.

But where's the profit margin in doing the right thing?

concentrate on the war in Afghanistan, pass sweeping HCR, as well as a long list of other things. Keep thinking he's doing everything for "the profit margin." It doesn't make you right.

88. Sweeping HCR?
You mean the latest gigantic corporate giveaway?

You are correct about his campaign positions. I wasn't exactly expecting change, so I didn't vote for him. His stated positions were essentially identical to McCain's on most issues, and he lost my support the day he voted with Bush/Cheney to "legalize" unconstitutional wiretapping.

92. I watched some of their speeches
For example, Obama's AIPAC grovel. The quotes were quite fair and accurate. It came down to a choice between an articulate, dynamic corporatist or an old drooling corporatist to replace the frothing at the mouth corporatist.
