President’s Visit to Boost Uruguay-Cuba Relations: Interview with Uruguayan Ambassador to Cuba Jorge Mazzarovich

Uruguayans have struggled since then to build a country for all, with less social exclusion and poverty, while impeding the advance of the neoliberal model that the traditional political parties (Nacional and Colorado) established to privatize the nation’s wealth.

The Cuban people will receive President Tabare Vazquez on Tuesday on an official visit to the island, accompanied by a large delegation of more than 140, including five ministers, among those Foreign Minister Gonzalo Fernandez, business people and labor leaders.

A “very select” delegation, said Uruguayan Ambassador in Havana Jorge Mazzarovich, who spoke to ACN while preparing for the visit.

What are the reasons for this visit to Cuba?

“The main objectives are to boost relations between our governments to the benefit of our peoples.
