Venezuelan Jews protest broadcast of ‘Protocols’

CARACAS, Venezuela (JTA) -- Venezuela’s largest Jewish advocacy group has protested to the government a state-run radio broadcast that positively referenced the anti-Semitic "Protocols of the Elders of Zion."

In a formal complaint filed this week with the Public Ministry, the Venezuelan Confederation of Israelite Associations denounced the broadcast in which journalist Cristina Gonzalez read the infamous text and suggested that listeners also should read it.

“Venezuelan Jews know that promoting this anti-Semitic document only sows hate and discrimination, violating the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” the confederation said in a statement.

During the broadcast, Gonzalez expressed her admiration for the Jewish community and “non-Zionist” Israelis before plucking what she called "little pearls" from the book to explain to listeners why Zionists have been able to amass a concentration of power and wealth.

16. Why should the present Russian Government apoligize for something the Czar refused to permit?

The protocols were written by the Russian Imperial Secret police, when presented to the Czar, he told them (paraphrased, the exact quite escapes me) "We do NOT need to resort to lies to address the problems of the Jews" and ordered the protocols destroyed. Somehow the protocols survived the Czar's suppression of them and were released after WWI by escaping White Russians. Thus the protocols were released and published AND some of the former Czarist Secret police were the first to reveal to the world the protocols were false. The Communists had nothing to do with the protocols (They knew from capturing the former Secret Police Headquarters that the protocols were lies) thus both sides of the Russian Civil War did all they could to suppress the protocols.

My point is how can Russian of today, correct what the Czar AND the Communists did NOT do (i.e. everyone in leadership positions in Russia since before WWI have tried to suppress the protocols). The protocols have taken a life on their own, fooling Winston Churchill (who later denounced them then found to be lies), Henry Ford (Who just stop publishing the protocols and ignore both the protocols and the fact he had published them while it was coming out that the protocols were lies created by the Czar's Secret Police). This is like asking the abolitionists of the pre-Civil War era, to apologies for not abolishing slavery sooner then it was.

Lots of reason to believe it was someone who happened to be French. Obviously the path of their spread leads thru Russia. Parts of the Protocols are known to be plagiarized from an Italian original, which was admittedly fiction.
