Caracas, July 10 (RHC-Telesur) .- Venezuelan President, Hugo Chávez, said Friday that the administration of his United States counterpart, Barack Obama committed a "fatal mistake" in supporting the meeting of the government's de facto leader , Roberto Micheletti, with the Costa Rican president, Oscar Arias in San Jose.

"The Obama administration committed a fatal error, in supporting a legitimate President to receive a de facto," said the Venezuelan president at a press conference from the Miraflores Palace (Government House) in Caracas.

Micheletti said that Chavez should have been arrested in Costa Rica for what he is doing in Honduras, then much of the condemnation of the international community.

"This de facto president is that they had put in prison, there is a resolution of the OAS, other United Nations (UN) and other blocks (...) is a very serious mistake of the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, support that dialogue," the president said.

He added that the call from Costa Rica for a dialogue "is an abortion" because it "was dead before you start."

"That's a dead man, a crass error by Washington, came out fast fortunately Zelaya of the trap is there now," he said.

Obama urged the government to establish a firm position against the coup, as "a challenge" for him.

"The U.S. Government has to prove with facts condemning the coup, why not withdraw the ambassador to Honduras, and impose economic sanctions (...) its actions have been timid," he said.

Urged to remove visas to representatives of the government de facto as a measure to condemn the actions taken following the coup.

It also accused the former U.S. President George W. Bush of supporting the coup.

The Venezuelan head of state showed that on Thursday night he called the State Department and was able to speak with Thomas Shannon, Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs of United States, whom he made his findings as to the nation as the U.S. is trying with the issue of Honduras.

Chavez eported that was treated very well and decided to contact the department, and was concerned because the same putschists used to Hillary Clinton, Obama and the same, "Chavez who hopes to act against it to reach its tour internationally.

Chavez took the opportunity to condemn the accusations from the right towards the Latin American Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) Jose Miguel Insulza, who was described as "Chavez" by directing the agency condemned by acclamation of the coup.

"They said Insulza was subordinated to Caracas (...) and do not recognize the worldwide condemnation that was made" against the action led by Micheletti.

He also praised the people of Honduras for staying in the streets demanding the departure of the de facto government and greeted the first lady of this nation, Xiomara Castro de Zelaya for leading the social movements.

"More than one is surprised by the events in Honduras," said the Venezuelan president, referring to the 10 days in which the resistance has been maintained.
