Venezuela and US work to resume normal ties
Venezuela and US work to resume normal ties

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton discussed on Saturday sending ambassadors back to each other's capital in a move to restore normal ties between the two nations.

Chavez, a fierce critic of U.S. policies, expelled the US envoy to Caracas in September and Washington responded by kicking out Venezuela's ambassador in a dispute over US activities in Bolivia.

"Earlier today at the Summit of the Americas President Chavez approached Secretary Clinton, and they discussed returning ambassadors to their respective posts in Caracas and Washington," said U.S. State Department spokesman Robert Wood.

"This is a positive development that will help advance US interests, and the State Department will now work to further this shared goal."

1. Don't you love the way they leave out ALL the context? Why trouble the readers' beautiful minds,
after all, with reality?

No wonder we've got idiots shoving their way into places where people who do their homework congregate, wanting to butt in, disrupt, get in the road. They're the ones who don't need, or want to know any of the moral aspects of these stories, only that their "side" is winning, no matter what tactics employed, or how many people suffer.

I've seen all these stories piling up in the last few days reminding us of how Chavez is a "fierce critic." If any of these scumball writers got kidnapped at gunpoint by idiots, that reporter just might be a "fierce critic," as well.

It is interesting noting the actual open communication Chavez has initiated. No one's going to be able to accuse him of holding out, or remaining aloof, or acting like an asshole.

2. Chavez said Obama seemed smarter than Bush
and everyone piles on, lol, in a tone deaf kind of way. I guess only a few of us realize that Latin America has had humor for a very long time.

This article is mostly a State Department fax but I thought it should be put up to keep the record straight.

It's interesting that Cuba was supposed to be the main course but the natterers keep harping on Chavez in order to find a way to keep conflict alive -- imo, anyway.

3. You're right! The leaders there are focused on Cuba, but the corporate propagandists are focused on
Chavez. It's exactly like that.

This is damned strange, when you can actually tell, since the leaders have been discussing Cuba for ages, and intensely disscussing it for the build-up to the Summit, for the propagandists to insist on trying to steer everyones' attention to an over personalized, overstated, continually reiterated dislike not only Chavez has, but also the other leaders whose governments have been tampered with by Bush.

Our professional propagandists insist upon the reaction by these people to aggression from Bush, instead of the aggression itself. How underhanded can people get, and how STUPID can right-wingers be to not see this for themselves? Well, that's why they are right-wingers. It's the party for the mentally challenged, and overly stimulated.

7. I had forgotten what a weak, and silly man Bill ####ing Plant is.
The anchor man in the studio seems to be working toward being every bit as spineless and useful for propaganda as Bill Plant, too.

I'll bet you couldn't have paid Walter Kronkite to spew that rot!

Thanks for the link.

Chavez 'to restore US ambassador'

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says he expects to send an ambassador back to Washington soon.

Mr Chavez expelled the US envoy to Caracas in September in "solidarity" with Bolivia. The US reciprocated.

In response, the US state department says it "will now work" toward returning its ambassador to Venezuela.

The announcements came at a Summit of the Americas in Trinidad, where US President Barack Obama received a warm welcome from Latin American leaders.

Last September's diplomatic dispute arose over an alleged US plot against Bolivian President Evo Morales.

Mr Chavez was a fierce critic of the United States under former President George W Bush, accusing Washington of plotting to assassinate him.

8. Yeah, it was oddly introduced. These guys are in such a rush to get as much info. out there,
after giving it a good spin, they have lost any possible organization. That was really sloppy and odd.
