VP's home awaits if Biden chooses

WASHINGTON -- Vice President-elect Joe Biden has hand-selected every light fixture and doorknob in his Greenville estate, a custom lake-front property he designed himself.

His home, Delaware and his 110-mile Amtrak commute to Washington have long been a part of who he is. Now lifestyle changes both small and overwhelming await Biden and his wife, Jill, as they consider moving to No. 1 Observatory Circle, the vice president's residence.

Not only would Biden's commute shrink to just three miles, but his movements will either be a Secret Service or military operation in a bulletproof limousine or Marine helicopter that leaves from his lawn. Or, Biden may fly on a specially configured Boeing 757 under the call sign Air Force Two.

1. I would actually prefer the VP house to the White House.
More privacy & cooler architecture, in my opinion. Did you check out the video? Wow! Stunning house! And the ariel view gives a good idea of just how much land thirteen acres is - which is a lot for a house!

4. It appears isolated,
from this Realtors marketing piece, but its actually surrounded by several very busy streets/roads/boulevards, near Georgetown and downtown DC.

I hope they can be happy there. And his mother!

5. Damn! The video stopped in the middle of it, but what I did see was really
interesting.

I had seen the tour with Cheney's wife, and the place felt COLD -- like a hotel or something -- not a home. Maybe it was just a reflection of the current residents.
