RANT- Ebay Has Changed Listing Layouts YET AGAIN AND THEY SUCK!
Edited on Wed May-13-09 11:27 AM by KittyWampus
No, it isn't a matter of being resistant to change. If the change to a listing page's layout enhances the listing, I'm fine with it.

The way the new layout now presents items to the public, it is a total turnoff.

The information and photos at the top of the page are literally just haphazardly thrown onto the page with no delineations.

I am now at the point where after the last of my items are listed and sold I'm done with Ebay.

And there is no way to turn off the new layout.

One can only surmise that whomever came up with the current layout never uses Ebay for any reason.

Added 5 minutes later: I went to ebay and started to list a book for sale. When I got to page 2 - "Create A Listing" - there was an icon you could click on to go to the "Simple Form." I assume the "Simple Form" is the one you must be talking about. Double check at the top of the page to see if there's anything you can click to get back to the original form.

2. I don't like the new layout either...
...though for me it's more a case of "Why bother to change it if the old one is fine?" I don't think the new one is necessarily bad in and of itself, but it seems to just be change for the sake of change. I don't like having to re-learn where everything is (which is probably why I still have Word '97 on my computer), and I don't think buyers like that either.

The one constructive criticism I have is that the only picture of your item now is at the top of the page, and it's not shown again at the bottom. I do think the item should be shown again in a larger pic at the bottom of the page, after the text. Now I'll have to insert a picture myself at the end of the text, which will take additional time and bother.

3. I totally agree
Removing the large picture is a big step backwards. The new layout is ok, but they always try to slip something past you. In this case, it's the loss of the larger pic.

And not only will you have to add a second photo, if you use eBay to host your photos, you will pay more.

5. I started using Auctiva a while ago. So convenient. You get the scrolling gallery and
picture hosting- as many as you want and buyer's can enlarge them.

Large number of themed templates for your auctions.

6. Yes, I like Auctiva
Much easier to use than Turbolister or the eBay single item form. And cheaper!
