The Choice board has become a place for pro-birthers to show up and make the most insane comments. Truly insane.

Whew. I love it here! Thanks Bliss! :hi:

1. Hi Kt!
I agree with your every word. Bliss has done a great thing.

I'm still just getting my feet wet here.

Someday I hope "to boldly post what (this woman) has never posted before". (hehe)

It may take me a while to work up the courage, though.

3. I merely did the legwork...
Skinner gave us the group.

and when you do, "boldly go there" try to be as safe as possible about it. Please be vague on specifics (like locations, specific cities, etc.) I only say this because I know it's easy to forget that we are part of a bigger forum--and there's A LOT of trolls out there. DU is only going to do so much as far as our protection is concerned, so I'd rather see us all be safe than sorry. ;)

Plus that, I'm very protective of my sisters in choice. :grouphug:

You'd be amazed how some other sites (that we don't talk about here) keep track of members here. One of those sites recently went down, but I don't doubt they have another rock somewhere to congregate beneath.

I don't say this to make anyone feel "unsafe" just to be AWARE. And to remember, there's some idiots out there w/nothing better to do with their time. :eyes:

2. I am too, Kerrytravelers!!! I refuse to debate on this issue, there is only
one acceptable position and that is PRO-CHOICE!

4. I'm frequently amazed...

...how people on DU will try to bait you into discussion about choice. They probe and ask questions that suggest they are on the same side of this issue. Then when you've shared your stance, they attack you and call you a "murder enabler." :wtf:

The Choice forum is a sick joke.

I used to post there, only to find myself asked why I hate children. :eyes:

5. It's sad that the Choice forum was allowed to go pure nuts.
Thankfully we have a place to express legitimate thoughts on choice without having the same
nonsense-interruptus... you know exactly what I am referring to. :eyes:

6. Did it have a different name?
...at one time? Wasn't it called "reproductive rights" forum or "reproductive choice" at some point?

I found an old pm in my in-box, from someone that was labeled "your post in reproductive rights forum" or something like that. It's interesting how it went from a forum that that was more specific to women, and specifically about women's rights to what it's become.

Also, I feel silly admitting this but I didn't realize there were so many "Dems" that are anti-choice. I knew they existed, but I thought they were predominately within practicing religious communities. I was also surprised to find so many here.

7. I'd definitely write "Dems" in quotes.
I understand that people will have differing views on choice in certain aspects, but the level of nonsense that is represented there is beyond varying views to clear pro-birth.
