Well, dang! The independent fabric store here in town closed when I wasn't looking.

Now I have to drive 10 or 12 miles to get to the nearest Jo-Ann's. Just got home today and realized I'd forgotten to pick up a box of straight pins. I hope K-Mart has some, because I won't go to the Wal-MArt!

so, even though I do not like to buy fabric without "feeling" it, I have turned to the internet. Takes longer but I usually get what I want after I order some samples.
I did a wedding with internet fabric, talk about scared....worked out great in the end.
