Why Does The GOP Hate America?
Just finished watching "Who Killed the Electric Car?". This documentary is a MUST see. Ronnie Raygun, and the BFEE are absolutely complicit in using political leverage that INTENTIONALLY harms the American consumer.

The technology of the EV is here now. It is not only viable, it is light years ahead of any other technology. The destruction of all of these vehicles is criminal, and you may thank our government and their corporate sponsors for the deaths of our soldiers in the continuing oil wars.

This film had as much, if not more, impact for me than did "An Inconvenient Truth".

1. Because they hate themselves even more and money helps them deal with their self hate as well as
turning that hate to wards others eases their burdens. Nothing like how a person can marry into a business then claim they are self made no one gave them anything. Remember the troops knew what they were getting into when they joined the military so their conscience doesn't have to deal with their death's. Notice every member on DU is saddened by every death of troops, yet what do we hear from puke's? Thats a soldiers duty, die so the rich can make even more riches.

4. Profit and greed. The defining values of our capitalist society.
All other concerns become secondary. Goddamn it, it makes me want to scream! ;(

2. Shame. They are ashamed of themselves.
Edited on Mon May-28-07 12:07 PM by SpiralHawk
So when America does something noble, or when they have to deal with veterans who actually served America, republicons feel deep shame...because so many of them -- and all their 'leaders' -- are chickenhawk War Profiteers who never served America for even five minutes.

They are fully entitled to their shame.

But they are not entitled to hate or diss America and her veterans.

Sht, republicons even try to change the name of the United States of America to call it a fucking "Homeland."

Screw that fascist shit.

If they had any respect for America they would call it America.

6. The GOP hates America for its founding ideas and ideals, its freedom, liberty. and justice mantra,
its separation of powers and separation of church and state, the Congressional authorities involving the purse strings and war-declaration. These of some of the GOP's favorites things they hate about America.

by foreign interests so many times that they no longer consider themselves part of America.

9. Liberals dragged republicans into the 20th century scratching
and screaming with their heels in the mud, fighting anything
that's progressive, everything that's made this country
great. Republicans have never understood that the
spending power of blue-collar workers, obtained through
Democrats and unions, is what really made this country
great. They really believe "The Good Life" was obtained from
your own endeavors. They're to busy cloaking their greed in religion and patriotism, railing against any form of tax, never
comprehending that liberal programs have benefited all of us
and our country." Weary, inattentive, republicans are not up to the challenges of the 21st century. We need democratic leadership with visions of grandeur for the United States, not cheap labor conservatism!

10. There's a mentality that wants to destroy anything it can't own.
It's greed and covetousness in a sociopathic mindset that's embedded in zero-sum thinking. "Getting ahead" means knee-capping competitors. It's not enough to be rich if others are also rich - others must be impoverished. It's economic warfare with a "scorched earth" strategy - destroy what cannot be possessed so "others" can't have it. To say it's pathological is an understatement.

11. Because they serve Corporations which naturally do not have our interest in mind
A Corporation cannot think about anything other than increasing its profit. Any act that deviates from this will cause it to be consumed or overtaken by another corporation that does not deviate.

Corporations are effectively massively powerful sociopaths who our politicians (primarily conservative politicians have been duped or willing fallen into serving. The reason being that economy is vital to America and the Corporations are the dominant players in the economy. Therefore the Corporations must be placated.

This path leads to a stripping of everything humane and serving of humanity. It leads to cutting off anything that lifts human society up and forcing them to rely on Corporations.

13. I am in full agreement...
Corporations operate at the extreme end of the ILLEGAL<============================>ETHICAL line. Their main goal -- really only goal -- is to maximize shareholder value through increased profits. The push for immediate and short term results, comes at the expense of the worker, environment, and many times, their long term viability as a going concern. The immediate profit attainment is all-encompassing as the metrics of success are measured against current competitors.

Long term viability is being/has been replaced by short term greed. Strategic planning has devolved into a rape and pillage mentality. Until corporations begin to act for the good of all stakeholders, they are complicit in expediting the demise of our social and economic welfare.

With their singularity of purpose, and the incredible advantages of lesser taxation and huge capital, they wield their power through PACs, garnering commitments from politicians that aid their agenda in return for financial backing to secure the elected representative's position. It comes at the expense of the individual citizen. It is too much power residing in one "person".

14. They hate working people the most! They hate labor unions because
they know when labor sticks together, wages and benefits go up. They like cheap labor guest workers from South America, because they in turn are willing to work cheap which bring down wages for working people.
