God damn, Ron Paul is a Republican I'd vote for. (Except for the fact that every single one of
the Democratic candidates is someone I'd vote for before I'd vote for him).

Maybe it's time for a dual-party ticket? Just a thought.

Do you honestly believe that I don't know innocent people are dying? Not only our soldiers but thousands upon thousands of innocent iraqies...

Just because someone stands up and says lets get out of iraq now doesn't mean a hill of beans since many like him have done just that since day one, if it were as easy as some believe fighting this adminstration to listen to the will of the people, we would have been out long ago.

27. And women would be dying too if their rights for a safe abortion were
taken from them, and more than likely if people were forced to have children they don't want, those children would either end up dead or serverly abused both mentaly and physically and the gay population will find some of thier numbers being murdered as the hate against their lifestyle was seen to be politicaly correct, I could go on, health care being ingored, millions would die needlessly, fda regulations being ignored and or underfunded which would result in another millions of deaths, etc, etc. etc.

9. Yes, a Republican who wants a small governmentq
which means no domestic programs and of course, no universal health care or any other help for the ones who cannot "pull themselves by their boot straps."

Wonder where he stood about minimum wage.

It is about time that DUers will realize that the war in Iraq is not the only issue for most voters. Yes, the majority want out... unless for some miracle we will start "winning" (no, I have no idea how to define winning here).

But when it is time to vote, it is the issues close to home: jobs, health care, education, retirement. Need I add that that bill just passed also include the increase in federal min. wage that until now was stalled?

He's the only Representative OR Senator with a 100% approval rating from the JBS. Nobody else, not even any of the republicans, is within 20 points of him.

You might want to rethink this one.

17. I once said something similar about John McCain.
Although I would never vote for a Republican what I said was that if John McCain were the Republican candidate in 2000 and he became president, I could stomach him much better than George Bush. Turns out John McCain is as crazy as the rest of them. I'm too cynical to believe anymore that even an honest Republican is good for this country.

I'm stating right here that I'm impressed by the field of candidates the Dems are running.

There's not a ONE of them who I wouldn't want to be President.

But I like this Paul guy. Single issue or not, if that single issue is a useless war that kills American and Iraqis for nothing, I'm with him on that issue.

31. It may be because I'm from a different system..
but I feel uneasy about dual-party tickets before an election. To me, coalitions are ways of dealing with very close or inconclusive elections after the event, and having them before an election risks pre-empting democracy.

30. Ron Paul?
He is apparently horribly right-wing on economic issues, and on other issues like choice for women.

I think one has to be careful about supporting ANYONE who happens to be anti-war, or one will end up supporting some fascist ultra-nationalists like LePen and the BNP.

Being outside the American party system, I have no problem with respecting liberal Republicans; I just don't think Paul is one, unless he's changed a lot.

He's not against stem cell research. He's just against the government funding practically anything, since he's a libertarian. that would go for social security, welfare, schools stem cell research etc.

their philosophy is pretty extreme. I do champion his position on Iraq and he hasn't wavered from that.

44. An Absolute Miracle That He Got Through Medical School
I heard him on CSPAN talking about the fed and how they "create" wealth through inflation. This point of view, espoused by many "small gov't" liberterians, reveals an absolutely vacuous understanding of economic theory or econometric reality.

The forces of inflation are not created to generate wealth. They are intractable and continuous and they happen simply because of growth, population expansion, global monetary transfer, technological emergence, and many other factors.

If he is so stupid that he believes this silly construct, i question his credentials in the overall and know that he is not bright enough to lead this country. We've had enough of dumbasses in the White House. 18 of the last 26 years is plenty.
