I'm a little short on cash at the moment, so I was not moved to donate when I first saw there was a fund drive underway at DU. But the MINUTE my star expired today and I was confronted with the Non-Donor DU, I saw the light. I bought my star back IMMEDIATELY.

I'm telling you, friends, whatever you can afford, it's worth the investment. We all support DU on theory, but the value-added services (AD-FREE! SEARCH!) that come with subscrbiing are well worth it. A small donation will buy you a whole year's worth of services.

And I have to add that this is a BRILLIANT way of encouraging donations. ANYONE can participate here at DU for free. But if you can CONTRIBUTE ANYTHING, you are rewarded with invaluable extra services. I think that is a brilliant and DEMOCRATIC strategy that I can support whole-heartedly.

So do donate if you can. And please donate on behalf of others and buy them a star if you can afford more. Do whatever you can do to support our lifeline. We're all in this together.
