Post your favourite useless wikileaks story....
Man, the media is looking to make any cable they can into a story. I like this one... French officials discussed inviting Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, to a D-day ceremony. Really? This is news?

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2010/11/30/wikileaks-harper.html

Granted there's lots of these cables that are good stories, but there's myriad shit too. Post your favourites!

Pratereate Guard of Forty Women Body Guards that Khaddafi uses.

She concluded her tale last night by saying that perhaps the biggest thing that Wikileaks has brought to light is how many useless things are classified as "Top secret."

11. And is worth knowing about.
So the whole disclosure thing works. We learn about things that are important, things that are unimportant, and that the government doesn't distinguish one from the other.

12. They should not be using the system to save face, that's for sure.
Has anyone in government mentioned that?

14. So far I haven't heard anyone in the media mention that.
Apparently we're supposed to believe that our government has a right to keep anything secret... that's actually not the case, by U.S. law.

2. Well, there's Khadaffi's Ukranian "nurse"
It hasn't exactly been a secret that he likes to surround himself with beautiful women.

His "Palace Guard" consists entirely of attractive women.....

5. Is it wikileaks' fault that the government classifies something like that top secret?

10. how about 99% of the "stories"
if anything surprised anyone in the leaks, that means they haven't been paying attention for the past 20 or 30 years or more

15. I've made this point as well
Few of them actually matter, most are just like that...the kind of gossip that's the blood of the system. It matters to Diplomatic historians a few decades down the road...history geeks.

It will blow over...

17. Ah in the category of the Zimmerman telegram!
Talk about diplomatic name dispatch that mattered in a larger scale...and no, not in this leak...the database don't go that far back...
