| You say you want to fix the deficit.... |
|
If you want to fix the deficit, end the war in Afghanistan. There's lots of money there.
If you want to fix the deficit, end the war in Iraq. There's lots of money there.
If you want to fix the deficit, close the pointless military bases worldwide and bring those troops home. There's lots of money there.
If you want to fix the deficit, reduce our triple redundant surveillance agency's. There's plenty of money there.
If you want to fix the deficit, end the war on pot and tax it instead. There's lots of money there.
If you want to fix the deficit, close loopholes that allow outsourcing our jobs. There's lots of money there.
If you want to fix the deficit, start a serious infrastructure rebuild. Plenty of income taxes can be collected there.
If you want to fix the deficit, stop giving yourself raises every year and use that money to pay it down.
If you want to fix the deficit, tax the uber wealthy. They are doing nothing else with the money anyway.
If you want to fix the deficit, you need to go look for the money where it actually is. We don't fucking have it!
Until you start looking to the above mentioned things to fix the deficit I can't possibly take you seriously.

with one teensy weensy quibble:
If you want to fix the deficit, tax the uber wealthy. They are doing nothing else with the money anyway.
They're actually using their excess wealth to wreak havoc on the global economy with their wild speculations.
