Barton: 'I want to be George Patton' in battle against W.H.
That slide, titled "What's in Store for the Obama Administration, states that "Speaker Boehner is our Dwight Eisenhower in the battle against the Obama Administration. Majority Leader Cantor is our Omar Bradley. I want to be George Patton - put anything in my scope and I will shoot it."

With those parallels, Barton aligns himself and congressional Republicans with American military heroes of the Second World War. By that comparison, he could be perceived as likening opponents of congressional Republicans to Germany's Nazi regime.

2. Barton is too fucking stupid to be Patton.
Did Patton have a bag of hammers or perhaps a wet sack of shit? Barton could probably muster the brain power for that role.

6. So they don't want to do anything?
Because pretty much every general who has later gotten elected to public office, whether it be president or other, hasnt done anything. Eisenhower is the only one who did something that could be seen as worth while, the highway act. But even that idea he took from the Nazi's.

7. Boehner as Eisenhower?
Let's see...Eisenhower was born a poor kid in Abilene, to pacifist parents, and decided he wanted to join the army. He was kept stateside for WWI because he tried and failed three times to get a command post in Europe and could not. After rising to the rank of general, Eisenhower became the highest-ranked U.S. military officer (except for the CiC) since Washington and Grant. He then surpassed them when he earned his fourth star.

He led the Operation Torch campaign through North Africa, taking out Rommel's Afrika Korps, despite dealing with headcases on both American and British sides (Patton, Montgomery, Fredendall, etc). After that he was promoted to Supreme Allied Commander and given command of Operation Overlord, one of the most decisive assaults in the war and probably its turning point. He was a bit stiff, but Eisenhower was an upright, fair-minded individual and the best representative the United States Armed Forces has ever had--ironic, because he used his last speech to the nation as President to warn against the dangers of the military-industrial complex.

John Boehner is orange.

Yeah, I can totally see the parallels.

10. So does that make the White House Nazi Germany?
And in Barton's little mental morality play the president would be the leader of Nazi Germany?

I'm so old, I remember when bad-mouthing the president during a time of war was grounds for every elected representative in Washington to cry "traitor" and every talking chucklehead on the teevee had to seriously question the patriotism of such persons. This was after 9/11, so I don't think 9/11 has changed it again. Very curious. Will anyone dare criticize Barton?

12. This is typical for the "troop supporters" in my area...barton's district
Most in our age groups(45-65) have absolutely NO military background, and crucify anyone who DARES object to war and destruction. They LOVE to shoot...as long as it doesn't put THEM at risk, make them work too hard,or think of someone besides themselves.

Kinda like the way they love to have sex.
