Send Washington a simple message: Austerity for ASSHOLES on Wall Street who caused the problem!
No more talk of cutting Social Security, Medicare, or busting public employee unions.

The way to get our fiscal and economic house in order is to bring those who broke it to heel.

Tax the wealthy at the same level they were taxed at the beginning of the Reagan administration.

Re-institute a transaction tax on Wall Street, and tax derivatives and shorting out of existence.

Put both in a package and set the rates so that our take equals the extortion Wall Street demanded in the bail out through their tool Hank Paulson: $700 billion.

And I would also not call it a tax increase but ''Reaganomics Reparations.''

Send this where it needs to go:

1. That's not high enough of a tax rate.
I think the top rate when Reagan took office was around 70%. It was about 90% at one point during Eisenhower's administration...make it that plus 5.

2. Reaganomics Reparations--
Now, THERE, dammit, is a catchphrase worthy of spreading everywhere. It's fully as good as the Republican "death tax" meme.

3. it would be tough to get it to catch on since the media won't interfere with deification of Reagan
It's worked so well, some polls have put Reagan at the top of most admired president lists.

4. It's about time that the Dems started trying.
Like issuing talking points in case any of them ever actually get onto one of those Sunday talking-head shows.

5. The TARP is going to cost taxpayers $25 to ~$65 Billion per a headline
that I read today. I just got back from a vacation trip and am catching up.

10. Oh, KoKo, you're so cynical.
It reminds me of Lilly Tomlin--"No matter how cynical you get, it's impossible to keep up."

12. I used to write satire, but now if it's believable, it's already happened.
if it hasn't happened yet but will, people will think it's nuts.
