What's most important you when you post an OP?
I don't mind GD's incivility and aggression, I get that way on occasion :P. I've had posts locked and posts deleted. I can accept that, the mods are right most of the time.

What's most important are the responses that are thoughtful and kind, informed and intelligent. Do I myself live up to that standard...I try but I also know that I fail.

performance. I only had one real objection, they were dead wrong, but on the others they were right. I was being uncivil.

I was not talking about anyone else but me.

2. I like all responses, but detailed, thoughtful ones are the best.
Sometimes I play devil's advocate just to get others to think. A lot of times I'm met with direct criticism instead of a reasoned response. But I understand people who respond are sometimes busy, distracted or they are unable to properly express themselves with words. Very few respond with an attack. I like the calibre of the people here on DU. They definitely a huge step up from the people in most forums.

Happy Thanksgiving...

7. i always want the first person reports.
that's my favorite thing about du. no matter what the subject is, someone has direct, immediate knowledge almost every time.

yeah, that an not getting my thread locked, which is embarrassing when you are a mod.

9. it's frowned on for mods.
that is the downside of being a mod. you have to be good, and not get in fights. i really missed it at first. i'm used to it now. which is probably a bad thing.

14. Apparently to many here what is most important is how many Recs their OP gets,
and how dare anyone give THEIR OP an UnRec. That is also so important to many others that they will use the very first response to point out an UnRec without saying anything else about the thread.

15. Most important - being clear on a particular point/message I want to get out
that comes to mind...but it can be intimidating here for such things - I tend to lead with the heart, not the brain - so something can be clearly laid out to me in my mind, but when trying to get them into words, they often feel trite or shallow or less well=formed than my intent. There are some real keen political minds here at DU - but it still worth a try once in a while.
