1. Pelosi sounds upset or tired.
No doubt she's been under tremendous pressure. Her staff has been under a lot of pressure today as well; you could hear it in their voices.

3. she's right about one thing
this bill is so vague that no matter where someone votes on it, they can say that they meant it to be a good thing. Even though it's toothless, those who vote for it will say "the benchmarks sent a signal to Iraq". It's a walking, talking flip flop on steroids.

7. shes sad at the opportunity missed
She says they didnt put accountability in the bill. Its a babystep. Its not the end of the debate thou.

Now shes attacking Bush in Iraq and urging Congress to listen to the American people to end the war.

18. I thought the vote was going to be a secret vote...so we wouldn't know how they voted?
Edited on Thu May-24-07 05:46 PM by in_cog_ni_to
I must be missing something here. I read a post earlier that said we wouldn't know who voted how.

19. that post was a mess
It talked about House rules then tried to blame Senators. Well sorry, but the Senate and House have different rules. That post lost credibility with me.

17. I know, I'm totally confused.
That's what I thought C-SPAN announced and just now CNN said the supplemental had passed. I must have heard it wrong.
