| Well, well, this is amusing, RE TSA |
|
so NOW, I learn from my mother, (who is in Mexico City) that a few of our people in positions to know, you know like oh Congress Critters, are finally saying the problem is not we the sheeple... but cargo and preferred shippers...
I am going to go try to find a source for this... but, and I have no doubt to doubt my mother, would not be the first time that CNNI, or CNN Spanish covers news we the proles are not supposed to know, are covered in OTHER places.
So let me see if I can step OUTSIDE the wall, but if this is the case... the outcry is working people.

that big a threat and not to many of them either. And why all the attention on aircraft? Far better targets exist all around us. Just a little common sense.

|
and that is where the caveats come.
Terrorism ebbs and flows, and it tends to stay local.
I suspect one reason we haven't seen anything in the US, like trains in England, is quite frankly, two oceans.
But we have MAJOR holes in security, like real security, while we are playing a game of... herd the cattle.

| 7. Actually we do have some improvements |
|
yesterday I posted a long explanation of life pre-911 and what happened at Lindberg that actually allowed for 9.11 to happen.
Suffice it to say, I got onto a plane with a six inch blade in plain sight, a set of trauma shears in plain sight, and a two way radio...
Granted, I was doing this as an EMT, but none of these items should have been left on me. Now my steel toe boots staid behind.
We actually have had an improvement. That does not mean sexual battery, herding people and treating everybody like a suspect right at the moment is useful.
On the areas you cannot see, we used to check ZERO cargo. 20% or so is better than zero.
If you want to fall for the let's privatize TSA, realize any joe shmoe private company needs to follow FEDERAL standards. Also realize they will be paid half, turn over will be much higher, and it is something you do until you get a real job. Oh and Union busting while you are at it.

| 5. The threat of death by terror is so miniscule compared to other |
|
threats that cause the deaths of American citizens every day, it is ludicrous to waste the time and money on this one thing, when other causes of death, far more threatening, are all but ignored.
Tens of thousands dying for lack of healthcare eg. That would easily have been fixed, assuming anyone really cares about 'national security' by spending the money spent on creating more terrorists, those illegal invasions of other countries, on saving those lives.
Death by murder, by automobile accident, drug overdoses etc. all are far more imminently threatening to Americans than the possibility of a terror attack.
Since 9/11 eg, over half a million Americans died for lack of health care. Yet the 'national security gang' had zero to say about that threat and in fact fought against any effort to minimize those deaths.
I take their 'terror' scares with a grain of salt. It's all about money and power, not one of the usual 'terror wielding scare mongers' could care one bit about the American people so why should anyone even listen to their diatribe?

| 9. That is why I would turn my attention to real security |
|
you see that cargo... them preferred shippers... companies don't want to do that because it will cost UPS a quid to do that.
This is why I would, as much as it bothers people here, to the Israleized system that actually relies more on questions, and some on a magnetometer... yes save the enhanced pat down ONLY for those situations, yes in the real world they happen... for those cases where you have that little thing called PROBABLE CAUSE... and after somebody is read their rights... but that is just me. In fact, the backstatter machines have a role in this, see probable cause. 99% of passengers are not there to cause trouble. We just want to get from point a to point b... and going over the magnetometer and establishing I belong in the airport is what most of us should contend with.

| 15. It's certainly not about security. |
|
It's about money. Millions of dollars and one more attempt to profit from 9/11 by those who have made a fortune from that tragedy. Like Michael Chertoff someone who should probably have been prosecuted for his criminal negligence in NOT providing security to the people of New Orleans, which resulted in the deaths of so many U.S. citizens. HE stands to make a fortune from the use of these obscene machines.
It's also a disgusting and despicable abuse of people's rights and will probably cost the public a fortune in lawsuits. Treating every traveler as if they were convicted criminals on their way to jail is a violation of the 4th and the 5th Amendments at least, aside from the very sick element involved which can only have been thought up by people who are badly in need of intense therapy, and possibly criminal charges. Something many passengers have already threatened to do, file criminal and civil charges against anyone who sexually assaults them under the pretext of 'protecting' them from terror.
As so many have said, they are far more frightened now of this government than they are of terrorists. If the American people accept this, then they deserve whatever comes next. Totalitarianism doesn't happen without the complicity of the population at least when the first signs become apparent and something can be done about it before it's too late.
