Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) on C_SPAN now, I despise this
pompous hag. All she does is condemn others and has never had an idea of her own.

Blaming the past 107 days of D rule for all of the problems the previous R congress got us into.

1. I second that ... she called the Troops at Ft. Campbell "Her Troops" ...
That is *one big tell* at what an arrogant piece of work Blackburn has repeatedly demonstrated to be. One of the FIRST lessons that I learned as a boot 2nd Lieutenant is that those who are subordinate to us are NOT OUR TROOPS but US Army Soldiers.

Gawd she's disgustingly arrogant. I can't continue for she pushes all my buttons, i.e., what a true POS legislator. :grr:

5. Heh-heh...as a Med Plt Sgt, I trained a lot of you Butter-Bars...
I started out in the Infantry...the best Lt's were the ones who kept their mouths shut and learned, after about 90-120 days, they could deal w/situations they never thought they would encounter. There are very few "natural born" leaders, maybe 1/2 of 1% of the population. One of the jobs of a good NCO is to make sure we get good leadership...so we work like hell to make you guys the best...:D

FWIW, I only had ne 2LT that was a real dud...he was originally rifted out of the AF as unfit for military svc. He went to college, got a Masters in Psych, applied for a direct commission in the Army, got it and was the Med Plt Ldr in my unit...what an incredible asshole! but you take what you get, and do the best you can. We pretty well ignored him, doing only what was required by him to make him "happy", then we'd train and get things done on our own as we always had. Morale was stagnant until he left, but our avoiding him and getting things done far and above what he "wanted" kept us going on an even keel...:)

2. You beat me to it -
Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Cow/Tennessee) is a shameless right wing whore.
Sitting there spouting her bullshit lies.

TWICE in 45 seconds she said "The Democrat Party" and did it without batting a eye. '
She's either completely stupid or calculatingly insulting.
Rolling her eyes at the "pork" like the minimum wage provision in the war funding bill.

Her party is the king of pork and she's acting like she's above it all.

I can't figure out who's worse - HER or the Sheeple calling into the show.

I don't condone this type of thing BUT I'll make an exception in this case.
She should be smacked upside the head.

3. But y'all can bitch about her.
I have to live with the fact that not only does she represent me *gack!* but about 70% of the people in my district voted for her.

So who's pouring bloody Mary's for breakfast??

4. Your poor district is so gerrymandered in an effort to keep slags
like her in office. :(

I feel sorry for those in the rural parts of our state who get absolutely no news other than right-slanted. They have only right-wing radio and right-wing newspapers and never get to hear any side but the right's.

For those interested, here's what Marsha's district looks like. Tell me this is NOT gerrymandered to keep the good blue folks in Memphis and/or Nashville from ousting her sorry ass:

The district PURPOSELY misses anything but suburban Memphis and Nashville in order to keep a Republican in office.

12. Oh - it's not much fun for my husband, either (he's a Dem Jew).
We're in Knoxville, which has some blue pockets (and we live in one of them), but it's still, by-and-large, pretty red.

There is a non Jewish branch of my family up that way. (Bean Station to Tazewell.)

16. I could actually walk to my synagogue.
I'm at the edge of the district so can see the Nashville/Davidson county line from here.

I landed at a place called Scott's Bluff, Nebraska? I looked at my husband and said, "I bet we're the first Jews to ever set foot here!"

17. Scott's Bluff is in the Western Panhandle...God's country to be
sure.

Have you seen the NE Quarter? It has a rising sun signifying the East, Chimney Rock signifying the West...and the Conestoga Wagon signifying the Great Migration. But the wagon is actually LEAVING NE when you put this into context....

The reason I asked about a synagogue, is because I had to call to Omaha to find someone w/knowledge about a marker made of silver that was used w/the Torah. My step-dad got it in Germany during the war, it was buried, and one of his buddies found it, and gave it to him for safe keeping, (he was a Medic, buddy was from hometown in NJ and in the Infantry, subsequently KIA). Anyway, my Mom gave the object to the Holocaust Museum in NY. I was intrigued and wanted to know what the object was used for, and what was written on it, hence my search for a synagogue in NE...:D

24. We only have two synagogues here and they're both
down the street from one another on the opposite side of town and... ironically, near the Mosque. I think folks here think that only people in West Knoxville practice a religion outside of Southern Baptist (most of the Catholic churches, save one - my own - are on that side of town, too).

25. Nashville is kind of like that.
There are 3 on the same street - the Orthodox and Conservative just a few blocks from each other. The other one is a few miles down.

Then we have one at the county edge (mine) and a newer small congregation meeting in Bellevue.

And I'm sure that SOMEWHERE in Knoxville there is a Southern Methodist or Church of Christ congregation! LOL

My county has so many Six Flags Over Jesus (also known as Jesus Arenas) you'd think there was no one left to "save".

Yet still they find me.

29. I had to look inthe phone book to see how many churches are
in this small city of 21,000+:

Protestant (all dividions of such): 31

Catholic: 2

Jehova's Witnesses: 1

Seventh Day Adventist: 1

LDS (Mormon); 1

Salvation Army: (non-deominational) 1

Synagogue: 0

Mosque: 0

So, 37 Houses of Worship in the Phone Book...No wonder we haven't been hit by a twister in 50 years...

14. EEK...do you even have a synagogue i your area?...
I'm in Northeastern NE, and the closest synagogue is in Omaha. I'm not Jewish, but I grew up in NYC w/plenty of Jewish friends, some w/rabbi's as fathers, and we got into some extremely interesting discussions...I learned a LOT from them, and it changed my views on many things...:D

31. It's the richest district in the state.
Hence, oodles of Republicans. God, guns, 'n' gays.

The good news is, the Democratic Party (which I used to sit on the executive committee of) is growing by leaps and bounds.

The old time Dems (farmers) are aging and dying off but a lot of young people and transplants are coming in and getting politically involved.

They used to joke about the Dems in my county meeting in a phone booth. Several hundred show up regularly to events now. We also have Ashley Judd who is a great activist!

before...(What the hell kind of life do I have?), and she was just reading some RW tripe talking points. I find her "style" to be robotic, arrogant and w/o any merit. If I had been on the House floor at any time when she spoke, I'd just call it like i see it an say to her face that she is full of shit, and watch her head explode. It's as if no one ever told her she was not just stupid, but crazy as well...:)

the papers she had in front of her and it was typed paragraphs. she would look at the paper from time to time as she talked.

she has been on before and is so full of herself it's sickening. I had to laugh as her hairdo wouldn't stay in place.
