7 Investigations Per Week
Last week I pointed out that when President Obama was elected he stated that he did not want to have any investigations of President Bush's administration in that he wanted to look to the future and not the past. I also pointed out that the Republicans did not seem to be returning the favor. Today, it has been shown just how little the Republicans are returning the favor. Darrell Issa, the likely chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has stated that he wants to conduct 7 investigations a week for a period of 40 weeks. That adds up to 280 investigations during that period.

In comparison to Issa, Henry Waxman, the soon to be former chairman of the Oversight Committee conducted 203 investigations of the Bush Administration in the last two years of the administration. That means Issa wants to perform 77 more investigations in one year than Waxman conducted in two years.

Issa call for 7 investigations per week brings to my mind the question how many investigations did the Republican Party conduct during the Bush Administration. As far as I can recall they did very few, if any, investigations when they were in control of Congress during President Bush's term. That was the time they needed to do investigations. That was the time when people were being awarded contracts and being paid even when they did not do the jobs had been contracted to do.

3. Ignore subpoenas, say I can't recall to any question and don't be sworn in.
Lessons from repubs.
