"History" Channel is owned by Hearst Publishing. Hearst was doing right wing propaganda before Rupert Murdoch's grandfather was hatched out of an Australian crocodile egg.

They were also one of the corporations who got marijuana made illegal in the first place. No coincidence that this particular piece of lies would debut the same week Prop 19 was on the ballot.

sound muffled. With CC I don't misunderstand anything.

And no a hearing aid won't help. :P It's nerve deafness that started in my late 20's was/is progressive and affects both ears. Plus I have tinnitus and ringing in my ears constantly. :smoke: helps. I don't give a shit when I'm high :rofl:

Most people think oh hearing loss no biggie. But, it's a bigger biggie according to an expert who knows. When asked if she could choose hearing or sight she chose hearing. She said, (paraphrasing) Blindness cuts you off from 'things', Deafness cuts you off from people. Helen Keller.

this doc is marijuana b/c it's causing uncontrollable hilarity - and I'm not high. I've only watched the first few minutes but - is this satire?

now that I've seen the whole video.

maybe that's because I'm familiar with the history and sources they quote. They actually do a really good job of showing all the propaganda that went on to make mj illegal - also the racism, the desire to punish certain groups of people in this nation, the lies that the govt knew were lies and didn't care b/c the goal was to create an enemy substance.

as someone said in the doc - every culture allows certain mind-altering substances and demonizes others - for no compelling reason other than hatred of a group associated with one thing vs. another.

Anslinger hated cannabis b/c it was associated with jazz, African-Americans and Mexicans and other people who didn't have white skin.

It's sort of weird that they flip to meth - I understand, as far as cultural history - the beats and housewives shared a passion - since methamphetamine is, as one commenter noted, "the all-American drug."

It can also make your heart explode.

And meth was the drug of choice for Nazi Germany. no surprise.
