We just have to work harder and support candidates who support the things we hold dear.

1. Not gonna calm down.
Elections matter for real people. We blew it and we need to learn from it.

14. Well, then, let's all plant some money trees right now!
When harvest season comes, we can buy our own propaganda noise machine & hammer our own spin 24/7, give our candidates free airtime. If it's said on tv by some has-been infotainment mouthpiece, then it must be true!

That's what I've learned. Plus, Democrats need to be Democrats; they need to be reminded that it is their party's principles upon which our country was founded, not the party's of "I've got mine, so damn the weaker ones who haven't".

2. Yes and remember this is a typical mid-term election
the party in power loses seats historically. Now the fact that we lost Grayson and Feingold tell me that Kaine failed us and needs to go.

3. All they did was put a team on the field. They ain't won no games yet.
And they won't. They have nothing. If they cut government spending that will increase unemployment. They have no new or good ideas.

I'm disappointed like everyone else, but it's not the end of the world. We have to stand up, dust ourselves off and try again.

16. They don't know how to govern. Their only focus has been on wars for profit, the rich,
& campaigning. They don't know how to deal with the other 98% of us.

They don't have a grasp of the "government by the people, for the people" concept of our country.

9. And the alternative is??
I never said be nice or play nice. I said we have to support candidates who support things we hold dear. I'm not going to wallow in sadness, we lost time to move on and come up with another plan.

11. I don't see how to fight back.
Here in PA we had a constant barrage of ads blaming the dems for what the pukes did. What were they supposed to do, run even more ads calling out the lies? They tried but there was hardly any ad time left.
I'm telling you it was constant on every TV and radio station.

12. We need some leadership. We need more Howard Dean. Big mistake losing Howard.
Tim Kaine was less than mediocre when we needed stellar. So who did they go with but Mr. Sweetie Pie, we have talking points?" Kaine. Thanks bunches, Rahm. Was this part of some "plan"? :nuke:

17. Nationally, you may be right.
On a state level, at least here in North Carolina, nothing could be further from the truth. We went from both state houses being controlled by Democrats, to having both state houses controlled by Republicans. The first time that's happened in this state in 100 years. Let the gerrymandering begin. Let the cuts in social programs (especially those that deal with children) begin. Let the environmental suffering begin. Fun times for everyone. I'll take a rain check on the calming down, thank you very much.

18. Bingo!
I've been harping on that all day. How many Statehouses turned red - something around 20?? UNBELIEVEABLE. And they're all going to start redistricting. This defeat may haunt us for many years.
