1. Scott is at 29 percent, Miller 23 in this poll..........
Edited on Thu Oct-28-10 06:48 AM by Stuart G
Scott is surging, but still behind that lady, she gets 34 per cent.

3. I'm rooting for our guy

But if Murkowski does win, then the Wicked Witch of the North will probably self-immolate.

4. McAdams could win
If enough people realize what a nightmare Miller is, then forget Murkowski's name when they get there. Plus forget they can ask for a list of write-in candidates when they get there.

13. Yes, write-ins are difficult

And I doubt the Murkowski numbers are discounted for the inconvenience factor of actually voting for her.

18. I bet they'll have to exclude a lot of votes
for misspelling Murkowski.....isn't that how write in ballots work? The name must be exactly right?

6. Mind you, Ms Murkowsky won't really get all those votes
it is uncertain that she will win all 34 %, since all those votes have to be written-in. Say that 30 % of the Alaskan electorate is really going to try to write in variations of the name Lisa Murkowsky. That still puts Mr McAdams within striking distance. Then there is the question of what constitutes "voter's intent". God bless Mr McAdams and his campaign team. Let's win this game.

8. True teabag people may just sit-out.
They don't want Lisa.. They may just hold their breath & turn blue on Nov 2:)

I don't know how McAdams will fare, but anything that stops ole stubble-face is ok with me, and maybe if Lisa squeaks by, she may be a bit more humble this time around.

12. I don't think she will...
She will be courted from both sides, you see? That has never humbled anyone's ego.

14. Yes, but....

If a "Murkowski leaning" voter gets to the booth and doesn't want to futz with write-in, then between McAdams and Miller, where does that vote go?

17. I'd say there is a 50/50 chance McAdams gets it
Because Murkowsky is - or so I'm told - not much more to the right than Mr Nelson from Nebraska. So maybe her voters aren't either. And the above link says that Miller is having a really bad reputation over there. So when not writing in, McAdams does have a fair chance to get that M-leaning vote.

(And so what if Miller gets a few of those M-leaning votes? Our guy will still be ahead if they split evenly!)

2. This is going to be ugly and won't be over soon...
Those thugs are not going to go quietly into the night. And with all the write in votes there is going to be a lot of arguing and fighting and I"m sure a protracted court battle.

10. Intent of voter should win out
Lisa M should do it..even Lisa

If john doe and jonathon davis were running , John or Jon or John D or Jon D probably would not be clear, but she IS the ONLY Lisa who is running:)

11. I know that. I agree...
But do you think the teabagging crowd will be so agreeable and accomodating?

5. As much as I dislike Murkowski, I find Miller frightening.....
Can you imagine Miller, Rand Paul and Sharron Angle in the Senate? :scared:

9. and Buck
:(

The only consolation is that these newbies would not be all that popular with the old-guard senators, and they will surely embarrass themselves every time they opened their mouths:)
