Harold Camping's 'end of the world' in less than one year

October 22nd, 2010 7:21 am PT.

Harold Camping, a Protestant minister who will again be proven wrong, is publicly teaching that the world will end on October 21, 2011. He originally gave a prediction of 1994, but when that did not happen, he recalculated his dates.

So now, according to Harold Camping, Jesus will return on Pentecost May 21, 2011 and the world will end on October 21, 2011. So, based on his proclamations, the world has less than one year to exist.

that's why these days, False prophets just don't resonate. Just another freakshow full of crap.
I'm sure the guys in 10 AD were thinking this would all be really scary, but it's just another bad cable channel reality show.

9. My cousin and I were so paranoid...
Whenever any of these asshats would proclaim the second coming. I can remember her crying herself to sleep... and all I could think was, gee, if Jesus is so great and heaven is so wonderful, why the tears?

All I know is, if you believe the story, 'no one knows the day or hour' so... I feel quite certain that by making this proclamation, Jesus absolutely will NOT come to Earth (or back to Earth, whatever) on that date!

Yes, I'm quite sure. Very certain. Yep. No doubt.

13. Same here...
I remember being a kid and reading/hearing about stuff like that, even in the late 50s - early 60s.

I can't even begin to say how terrified it made me...because kids don't know that some adults are sick fucking assholes.

16. Yeah, I made damn sure to clue my kids into that fact as early on as possible!
All I had to do was shake my head silently, look at my kids, close my eyes, continue shaking my head. They would get that slight grin of understanding, and then listen from the perspective of "this adult is a sick fucking asshole."

It's good for kids to know you can still act respectfully to adults while knowing full well how full of shit they are. Being a better person and not sinking to the level is not always easy to teach a kid.

when it is finally demonstrated that you are wrong, simply admit it.
