The Tea Party should keep their hands off German history. SPIEGEL 10/21/2010:
Not-So-Steeped in History

US Tea Party Should Keep Its Hands Off Hitler

A Commentary by Charles Hawley

Many on the American right have developed a taste for including a bit of German history in their stump speeches. Hitler comparisons abound and the Berlin Wall even made a cameo recently. But the flippant references to the Holocaust are ignorant and offensive. And they should stop.

German politicians are well aware of the dangers of making ill-thought-out references to their country's history. In 2002, then-German Justice Minister Herta Dubler-Gmelin, speaking to the southern German daily Schwbisches Tagblatt, said in reference to US President George W. Bush's increasingly bellicose rhetoric against Iraq: "Bush wants to distract people from his domestic difficulties. It is a popular method. Hitler did the same thing."

It was the hint of a parallel more than a direct comparison. But Germans, the majority of whom hated Bush even then, were outraged -- and Dubler-Gmelin paid a high price for it. She was forced to resign.

The lesson doesn't seem to have made it across the Atlantic.

3. Larouche is nowhere in the article.

I'm not sure what you're saying here, and I don't mean this in a snarky way, please. There's just no mentioning of Larouche.

On edit: I see it now, it's on the poster.

On further edit: He's just a left-right-centrist-right-left-middle-right-left swinging anti-Semitic. Whatever rocks his little boat.

6. Yes.
I haven't searched his website, but I guess the graphic with Obama with a Hitler moustache comes from it. He probably isn't a tea bagger. I don't care.

I wouldn't hire him. Nor his wife.

8. Easy:
Since it's about comparing Obama with Hitler, I wanted one with the Hitler moustache, and it was picture number two. Haven't even seen the Larouchites stamps there. Here's the full gallery: http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/fotostrecke-60763.htm...
