They're lying to you, you know.
The media, who else?

"Republicans are Going To Win" "The Tide Is Turning Their Way" "Dead Cat Bounce for Dems" "Republican Wave"

But when you look at specific races, the Democrats are hanging in there. A few races are more competitive than they ought to be (Crazy Sharron vs Milquetoast Harry), but overall, I am sticking to my gut feeling that we'll hold both houses.

3. And they've been doing so since the 'official' beginning
of the campaign season - even when there was no evidence for it.

6. Its easier to understand once you find out there are only 4 or 5 of them
When you think about it almost all the news seen or heard in the United States is dictated by about a dozen people, when it comes down to TV news its less than half a dozen.

7. So what else is new.
the media is owned by corporations who donate to the repubs. If the repubs lose, they lose.

So, ergo, they push the message that the dems are going to lose to instill a sense apathy among the dem voters.

I saw the lights on real late last night at the ministry of propaganda. those poor folks, they work so hard and do such fine work.

Sheesh.

10. That fact is less important than why they are doing it.
And in my opinion it is to create the image of a GOP victory....probably because they will steal the elections of many congressmen by using all the dirty tricks at their disposal....and if we buy into the image we will not question the results no matter how obvious it is.

12. Don't stop working !!!
The ONLY thing that matters at this point is getting voters to the polls on November 2nd.

You can help do that.

Volunteer down at Democratic HQ. They need people to make phone calls, knock on doors, compile lists of local events, do data entry, etc.

Help others get their early ballots in case they can't get out on election day.

Get a yard sign.

Talk to your cousin/nephew/aunt etc.

We need to focus on this or the next two years of DU will be not about how to improve the country, but about limiting damage.

thanks,

Scuba

14. Actually, the concept dates to 1925. Hitler discussed it in Mein Kampf
He called it "the colossal lie," suggesting that no one would think such a massive lie could ever be seriously told, thus making it believable.
