I keep telling myself, "They don't know what the hell they are talking about".

The media and the polls are playing mind games with their propaganda. There is no way the Repubs can be fired up after what they did to our country. The media is cheerleading the Repubs to buck up and get to the polls. All their friends are voting. They are going to get rid of that socialist, Obama. The Republican Party is alive and well. George W Bush was just a blip on the screen. Look at what the Democrats have done to our economy and our jobs.

And they will crawl through glass to get to the voting booth on November 2nd.

At the same time, they are telling the Democrats that they are so far behind there really is no reason to go and vote on election day. It is a foregone conclusion, the Repubs are going to win everything. There is an enthusiasm gap. The Democratic base is depressed. Democrats are going to lose everything.

This is the storyline that the media is painting for the next election. Cheer on the Repubs and depress the Democrats. They are working very hard to make sure their storyline comes true. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

3. Yep
And down in Florida the establishment D's are playing along.

They have a good liberal running for senate, but some D's are supporting the republican while throwing the liberal under the bus. Ever since the media has decided the liberal can't win. Can you believe that?

6. They are setting up the story now so that when the computerized voting
picks the winners they have decided on before-hand, there won't be a violent uprising.

8. Remember some of the shit they were saying in '08, about how people
who said thery would vote for a black candidate really didn't mean it, and similar absurdities?

Who carried all those states, media folks?

Not the Maverick twins...

9. We can not entirely discount polls...
but we should not live as if they are absolute facts.

The media certainly uses polls to create a narrative, and some polls (Rasmussen) appear biased toward the right.

One thread yesterday showed the affect of not polling cellphone users. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=433x475378) This may very well destroy the margin on most polls and show a more competitive election cycle that, though still favoring Republicans, shows that their gains are likely only to be modest.

Early voting in Iowa and Ohio indicates that there may be things that are not picked up by these polls. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=433x477677

If the media (other than fox) is guilty of anything, I think it is that they know that drama is good for their bottom line, so they broadcast a narrative the hypes the drama.

10. In agreement with your analysis
In total agreement. Although I was thinking last night - what if the R's DON'T take the house. And the Senate could always go 50/50. And there is this little tiny glimmer of spite in me that says: So what if they take the House and 50 seats in the Senate. See, there's this guy Joe Biden that is the . . . you get the point. If they do get this 'huge sweep' - they aren't going to get very far with it when Joe Biden gets called in to break votes.

A girl can dream can't she?

11. I wish we knew....
if COC and Rove are dumping money into the talking points of our MSM. I have my suspicions.
Money is tight and God only know what under-handed deals are going on behind the scenes.

It was proven that editors of large newspaper where paid to write positive articles about Dubya.
That how he stayed close enough in the 1st election for the Supreme court to proclaim him our President.
Man, was that a bad day!!!

12. Yes, but I will say this again, there's a new Silent Majority in America. It's about to speak again.
Voters may nod when they hear the teabaggers, they may even gripe with them, but when they go into the polls to vote privately, we will win, Kentuck.

I may be way out on the crazy limb, but I think I know the people and the mood in this country: http://journals.democraticunderground.com/David%20Zephyr/73.

Americans are going to give the Democrats two more years. :)
