How long before the Chileans are hijacked by Hollywood?
Most of the world looks at the recent Chilean rescue as an example of how things should be in the world and society. I.E. Respect for each other and working towards a common goal and $$$ not even in the equation. How long will it take for Hollywood to destroy it?

The miners supposedly made a pact that it would be one for all and all for one. How long will it be before the Hollywood / ET Tonight promoters (and they obviously specialize in making big money off of the backs and notoriety of others) will figure a way to break their pact and divide them under a pretense that more money for one is better than self respect and respect for all others.

PREDICTION: Hollywood promoters will weasel their way into these miners lives just as they alone profit while society at large loses another example of excellence and respect for humanity.

1. The miners would welcome an infusion of money into their lives..
The movie WILL be made... No doubt, the miners have representation already , and should make a little money on the deal :)

2. I'm sure they will
and Hollywood will make even more, and in the process destroy their lives and prove once again that money doesn't make happiness. Instead it creates greed and discontent, while happiness is about contentment. We now see it coming to these simple happy people and it should bother some.

I have little respect for the entertainment industry which has somehow convinced politicians to subsidize it through our taxes and by those such as Wal-Mart workers that don't have nearly enough, while Hollywood is made even richer while producing nothing of real tangible worth. That's the way I see it.

3. We have no way of "knowing" that their lives will be destroyed.
Some may, most probably won't be. For the older ones, this newly-found fame may enable them to finally retire from that dangerous job...for the younger ones, it may enable them to not HAVE to work in the mine..It may allow them to go to school, or to relocate their young family elsewhere, where there may be better opportunities.

At the very least, it will inject some fun & relaxation coupled with a little money for a change into their rather bleak lives in that desert.

I don't know your own circumstances, but imagine a money-drop into your own life.. Would it ruin you? or make your life a bit more relaxed:)

7. Hollywood would likely look at me as an aberation
because I have no need for more money. It wouldn't make me happier.

I have enough that I don't try and impress others and have no desire for more. I never wake up wanting more and I never worry about not having enough. My monetary demands are little and I have enough to meet my requirements and contentment with the needs of family and friends. It is always about meeting needs and not obsessing over more, and not going into debt or compromising family and values for more.

There are those with the DNA of greed who would never understand the concept that contentment in life is better than more money. Be assured they'll work their wiles to make sure that these miners have their greed awakened too and are no longer contented and no longer happy.

It has been proven that financial wherewithal that meets minimum needs is sufficient for happiness. The greed mongers hate it when people understand that concept.

4. Spielberg is working the phones as we speak
The movie will show a brave, resolute President of Chile with a back story of Middle East terrorists who are trying to sabotage the rescue.

Oh, and the trapped miners will discover a vein of diamonds, which they will use to buy off the mine from it's evil owner.

Puppies will frolic around the mine head.

8. I've heard credible psychologists say the miners will find it very difficult to honor their pact.
Each will react differently in the ordeal's aftermath. Some will change careers, some will go back into the mines, some will have life struggles, and so forth. As they increasingly move in different directions, the pact will dissolve.

As to Hollywood, why not? Its an uplifting story. Money will be spent and they will get some of it.

Just so you know, those on the scene reporting for the duration of the event said that as the rescue neared, the site was overrun with producers and agents from all over the world, not just "Hollywood."

They all have one thing in common regardless of where they originate.

Simply stated it is: How can I make more money on the back of these individuals that now have some fame, even if I destroy their lives? They live their lives with this one objective. more $$$$$$ It is never about improving society or helping others.

13. It is the typical routine that the media uses on average uninformed
people that are thrust into the limelight and all of it is in the interest of profiting and making money for the promoters.

Apparently the miners have made a strong pact that if they stick to their guns and are are smart, will allow them to be cohesive force against what are a pack of thieves who will do anything to create a circus atmosphere where they can make money off of others.

The media knows the game and routine well, by which they divide first and then throw carrots to naive non-celebrities knowing that it will in the end tear their lives apart, while making the promoters a ton of money. I hope the miners stick to their guns and tell Hollywood where to stick their fame and money. Few can resist quick money even though it typically ruins lives.
