Ghouliani drops to third place in new Iowa Poll...
http://desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070520/NEWS/305200006/1056/NEWS09

Go Romney!

Mitt Romney has sprinted ahead of presidential competitors John McCain and Rudy Giuliani in a new Iowa Poll of likely Republican caucus participants.

The Des Moines Register poll shows Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, is the top choice of 30 percent of those who say they definitely or probably will attend the leadoff Iowa caucuses in January.

McCain, a U.S. senator from Arizona, nips former New York Mayor Giuliani for second place — 18 percent to 17 percent.

2. Mittens is surging. I predicted this--he's the most electable on the GOPer side.
He's also first in New Hampshire. If he takes both, the nom will be locked up for him.

3. I think Ghouliani (a.k.a. St. Rudy of 9-11) would be hardest to beat
and a guaranty of another terra terra terra 9-11 exploitation-thon of an election-- UGH. Only the Rethugs can keep us safe, they hate us for our freedom, ad nauseum. Oh Lord in heaven, please serve up a Romney or a McCain nomination, please puh-lease.

6. I don't see him as the most electable
He has no mythical hero status unlike Dame Rudy and McCain.
He wouldn't win his homestate.
He has the New England multi-millionare vibe that doesn't play well in many states.
He has flip flopped on every single position he has had (and lots of it is on youtube).
His religion will cost him some votes.

His positives are:
Decent speaker (which may be cancelled out by the fact that he frequently says weird shit. Did yoou see the TIME peice on his "top 10" gaffes?)
Has lots of money.
Will win 99% of the vote in Utah.

8. McCain and Rudy's hero status is fading fast. The conservatives

aren't wild about Mitten's flip-flops and his religion, but they're not about to ignore a rich, good-looking, successful CEO and former Governor--really, he's the most qualified of the top tier (what's McCain known for in the Senate, besides a bad temper and CFR?), and he has a nice family. That will sell on Republican Main Street.

husband works with were gung ho Rudy fans up until earlier this month. Someone brought in a picture of Rudy in drag and it sent these bubbas into a tailspin. They detest McCain and think that Romney is a religious kook. Mind you only one of these fellas has ever been near a ballot box so the impact is minimal. However, their "values" have been affronted...they belong to the barstool values wing of the Republic party...or they just party. At any rate, they don't know who to support and both have sworn not to vote this time.

the one who said to "double" the prisoners in Guantanamo at the debate? And recieved the biggest applause of the night?
