Was just listening to rush

A man just called in and said that he and his wife had put down
70% down on their house and when the economy got bad they missed 3 payments
in one years time. They tried to catch up and were told the bank would not
accept any more payments.

They tried many of the mortgage modifications out there and encountered
delays and turn downs at every turn.

Of course rush ran out of time and supplied his own take on it. He said that it was
Obama's fault because the loan modification program was just for show and
was not really to help anyone.

No blame was put on the banks, banks were just doing the good job they always do.


It is time to bring the bank leeches down to their knees. Let them fail if that is what it takes.
Investigate all the false and illegal foreclosures. Fine the hell out of them and throw them in jail.

So, did Rush blame the caller for buying more house than he could afford? Or could he tell the caller wasn't the "wrong" kind of person and therefore was doubtless a fine, upstanding "real" American? That's how the guy's default on his mortgage could become Obama's fault, then. See?

...couldn't he have put say 50% down and kept the rest of the cash in reserve for emergencies?

8. that's just silly. saving money is not american. borrowing is american.

unless he had put 50% down and used the rest to buy big tvs or expensive furnishings for the house. maybe that would have been acceptable. the banks should be at fault for refusing to help the homeowners who have only missed a couple of payments but otherwise have had a good history of paying.
