James O'Keefe's CNN Stunt Finally Wakes Up Some on the Right
Edited on Fri Oct-01-10 07:26 AM by sabrina 1
While some die-hards still 'want more information' before finally tossing the clearly disturbed James O'Keefe overboard, some Conservatives have apparently had enough.

From Red State:

James O'Keefe's CNN Prank

The real creepiness of the proposed stunt is excerpted by CNN here. The document, titled CNN Caper, outlines a grotesque plan to isolate reporter Abbie Boudreau on a boat in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by pornography, condoms, and sex toys, and then engage in an attempted seduction. Seriously. There was a tripod and camera over the bed meant to appear, and this is a quote from the document, as an obvious sex tape machine. And those are just the parts that CNN has released so far.

......

At one point in the strange outline, there is actually a script, complete with fantasized responses from Boudreau. Again, yes seriously.

As Boudreau reported to CNNs Rick Sanchez in an interview, part of the script was I would break down and start crying and ask to just please let me off the boat.

Thats considered punking? A deliberate plan to make her feel isolated, alone, unsafe and afraid? The stated goal of which is to have her pleading to be let go?? Thats not called punking around here.

And from the comments section where there are still, even in spite of this despicable plot to sexually entrap a woman reporter, many who believe they 'don't have the whole story yet', there are those who have enough decency to overcome the temptation to try to defend one of their own for what really is indefensible. This commenter refers to those still willing to give O'Keefe the benefit of the doubt:

We have fewer fools on our side
jackhammer Thursday, September 30th at 9:59AM EDT

but obviously some fools still are on our side.

Shun himhe is a childish pranksterthe pimp suit was already over the top, the phone tap idea is nuts.he looks like shaggy from Scooby doo and comes up with similarly lame hi-jinks.

I wouldnt get near him, with a messed up mind like that, there will be further embarassments coming down the line.

From the Conservative Blog, Newsbusters:

Bozell Denounces O'Keefe's 'Ugly, Dishonest and Filthy' Stunt

The MRC unequivocally denounces James OKeefe for his attempted assault on CNN. It isnt just childish and immature; its ugly, dishonest and filthy. There is no place in the conservative movement for this type of behavior and thats exactly what I warned about in a commentary piece I submitted to CNN.com just two days ago.

"Could the Citizen Journalist abuse the public trust?" I wrote in this piece that should run in the next few days. "Hypothetically, of course. Conservatives must all guard against this. Let there be scrutiny, by all means." And I repeat: there must be scrutiny.

Bottom line: We want nothing to do with OKeefe or his dirty antics.

Et tu Breitbart? Is it possible that even the crazy Breitbart is backing away this time?

Has Breitbart Forsaken His Protege James O'Keefe?

Breitbart didn't respond to our requests for comment, but he has been using Twitter to lash out at those who describe O'Keefe as part of Breitbart's "crew."

"Not his employer. When criticizing journalism always try to practice good journalism," he tweeted to Nicole Sandler, a radio host who had retweeted something that called Breitbart O'Keefe's "employer/coward."

When Oliver Willis, who writes for Media Matters, tweeted that "@andrewbreitbart's crew strikes again," Breitbart shot back, "'@andrewbreitbart's crew'? do you want to get sued for libel?"

And the incident hasn't been mentioned at all on Breitbart's sites BigGovernment.com and BigJournalism.com.

Funny guy, Breitbart, reminding people to 'practice good journalism'!!

Threatening to sue anyone who associates him with O'Keefe, the man he once claimed deserved a Pulitzer Prize for his 'work'! Very funny guy!!

Despite the fact that this time O'Keefe appears to have crossed a line even Conservatives find abhorrent, it is disturbing to see that they still believe that he 'exposed' ACORN. This is the fault of the MSM and Congress who refused to expose O'Keefe & Co as soon as they knew he had edited those tapes.

That issue still needs to be addressed by the media. Many lives were ruined and millions of poor people adversely affected by what were criminal acts committed by O'Keefe, Breitbart and Giles which SHOULD have been prosecuted, but were not.

Finally, so far, Fox News who work with O'Keefe and Breitbart when they engage in their 'gotcha' stunts, has been eerily silent on this latest O'Keefe debacle. But we know that they are usually among the first recipients of Breitbart/O'Keefe edited tapes.

Fox News still obsessed with Colbert, but can't mention O'Keefe

Yesterday, the news broke that conservative filmmaker James O'Keefe may have tried to pull an odd and ill-advised prank on CNN reporter Abbie Boudreau. O'Keefe and his organization Project Veritas allegedly set up a boat with overtly sexual props, and planned to lure Boudreau on to the boat and videotape her being "seduced" by O'Keefe. The story led to condemnations by (most) conservatives, but not the ones on Fox News. A search of Fox's primetime shows and this morning's Fox & Friends showed no mentions of the O'Keefe scandal (to be fair, Fox's sort-of comedy, sort-of news show Red Eye did cover the story, at 3 AM).

It's not as if Fox has no idea who O'Keefe is, they obsessed for months over his ACORN videos. Hannity called O'Keefe a "pioneer in journalism," O'Reilly said he should receive a congressional medal, and Beck called him "courageous." Fox & Friends even hosted O'Keefe in a pimp costume on their After the Show Show

I have a suspicion Fox would prefer not to reveal the fact that most likely they had already received the creepy 'script' of O'Keefe's fantasized seduction of the CNN reporter and were awaiting the video with bated breath. Their silence though, speaks volumes.

9. Check out who has funded him. It might give some
insight into his sexist, racist obsessions. I posted this below in response to a question about who funds these people. This guy seems to have some serious objections to any enlightenment about gender eg. Probably liked the old ways, where women were second class citizens. I could see how, to get money from this guy, knowing his beliefs, O'Keefe would be guided by those beliefs in thinking up his anti-women, anti-minority 'scripts'. But personally, I think O'Keefe is a very sick, and possibly dangerous man as no normal man would even consider carrying out this 'crime' against a woman. As she said, he intended to have her crying and begging to be 'let go'. That is way beyond a 'stunt'.

"Is the new consciousness about race, gender, and sexual preference really the antidote to America's problems or a cause of them?" Thiel's book asks in its introduction. Another representative quote: "Multiculturalists like thinking of themselves as victims far too much to want to end their victimization. They need their imaginary oppressors to
give their lives meaning."

Thiel's book does not spare homosexuality. "Much behavior is being conducted in public, for the express purpose of shocking and offending others. The shock is then called 'homophobia' and is used as evidence of the oppression and victimization of homosexuals." The book (published in 1995) argues against Stanford instituting domestic partner benefits, complaining "even in purely economic terms, the costs are substantial...The end result is something of a random scrambling of people into "relationships," all claiming the right to live off of everyone else."

The link is in my post below btw ... I wish the media would stop calling this a 'stunt' or a 'prank'. This was way more than that. They are still pretending this guy is some kind of journalist and therefore has some license to do stuff like this. It is very disturbing.

control one way or another.

ironic the wanting to be the victim as this dude creates a scenario to make reporter a victim.

thanks for you op

the more threads, the more passed along, maybe the more open to getting beyond the "funny" of it and seeing the seriousness and prevalence of this behavior today.

23. The far right never wanted women to become independent.
Edited on Fri Oct-01-10 08:56 AM by sabrina 1
They fought it while they could, then felt forced into accepting it, but for some of them, they never really did and they deeply resent that. So they lash out whenever there is an opportunity to do so, ie, controlling what women do with their bodies, which makes them feel like they still have power.

I do believe it is a minority, and on the far right and that most of them have deep, psychological problems. But they have money and that is why we get to hear more of their views, sadly.

8. 'Who has been paying him'?
That question was raised during the ACORN debacle. We never got a clear answer however he was funded at one time, and maybe still, by The Leadership Institute which produced such luminaries as Karl Rove, Grover Norquist, Ralph Reed, James Gannon/Guckert et al.

But most interesting was the information that Facebook Investor, Peter Thiel, was funding him. Very interesting article HERE about the beliefs of this guy. Such as:

"Is the new consciousness about race, gender, and sexual preference really the antidote to America's problems or a cause of them?" Thiel's book asks in its introduction. Another representative quote: "Multiculturalists like thinking of themselves as victims far too much to want to end their victimization. They need their imaginary oppressors to

Sounds like a guy who would be behind O'Keefe's sexist, racist videos.

The woman who warned the CNN reporter handed over emails and it seems that she, Izzy Santa, who does get credit for stopping this despicable act, mentioned that she contacted 'the funder' of this sexual entrapment plot to let him/her know that there were issues with it. She did not name the funder, yet.

As for lawsuits, several have been filed against O'Keefe, Breitbart and Giles. One in particular looks like they should prevail and hopefully in the discovery phase, get some information on who is behind these criminals.

ACORN doesn't even exist any more. Its employees are out of work. They worked with poor people, and they didn't have deep pockets themselves.

That O'Keefe character destroyed "ACORN and persons involved w/ ACORN."

It costs money to sue. Lots of money.

49. ACORN filed a lawsuit, but was that withdrawn?
I know Juan Carlos Vera filed a suit a few months ago, and I definitely think he will prevail. They really smeared, libeled and slandered that man who has absolute proof, (two police reports eg) that they were lying about him.

The media knew this too, but just dropped the story once it began to crumble instead of exposing Giles/O'Keefe and Breitbart back then. I think the media too could be sued.

51. CNN was also the Target when will they learn
O'Keefe is sick -- but so is Rove, so are lots of Conservative/Republican operatives. CNN was meant to be sullied by whatever O'keefe was up to along will Boudreau. When will CNN take on the mantle of truth against those that seek to destroy CNN? CNN taking a more truth seeking role (such as MSNBC has) would be a start on their remaking.

64. CNN dropped the ACORN story as soon as it became obvious
that it was a huge scam, edited tapes etc. Instead of giving as much coverage to the exoneration of ACORN as they gave, without doing any homework which was quickly done by bloggers, to the original edited tapes, interviews with Giles etc., they simply dropped the ball. And as a result, there are still millions of people who think that O'Keefe 'uncovered corruption' when in fact he did nothing of the kind.

They owe the public the truth about that scam. Let's see if they finally do their jobs. Now they have been nearly victimized, had it not been for that woman, Izzy Santa, you would think it's time to do a full exposure of these nutjobs and whoever is funding them.

her campaign and this wasn't high on her list of priorities.

But I do think Progressives should put together a letter or an giant ad and put it in the NYT explaining how sick this guy O'Keefe is and how he was already arrested for tampering with the phones of a U.S. Senator, and this is the kind of person these Republicans believe are an example to young people. That should scare any parent away from voting for them. Is Mean Jean up for election this year I wonder? Her district must be filled with the stupidest people on the planet.

'sex toys' it was hard to do anything other than condemn it. There really was no way to defend it.

If you haven't seen the sick script and that list, I will post it for you. The whole world should see what these people are about. I do not see how anyone can call it anything but a crime.

The Republican woman who warned the reporter was 'very upset' CNN's Boudreau stated. 'She had dirt on her face and her lips were quivering', the reporter said. The reporter asked her if she was alright'.

I would like to know what happened to that girl BEFORE the reporter arrived. I hope if something did happen to her, that a report will be made.

These people are NOT beyond violence. One of O'Keefe's 'young Republican colleagues' was charged with assault for walking up to a Black women, a complete stranger to him, and slapping her in the face. There are deep, deep problems with these men and the women who remain silent about them.

and it is the peoples place to call this out. if we dont, we fail, again, pushing the line and acceptance further.

22. I agree with your sentiments. This is far deeper than what
we see on the surface of course. But even what we are seeing is serious enough that the media should NOT be calling what these people do 'pranks'. Tampering with the phones of a U.S. Senator is NOT a prank. Setting up a woman for a possible sexual assault is NOT a prank.

If they were shunned and castigated by society when they began these dirty tricks, at least they would not have been emboldened to openly express their hatred for women who are independent and professional, or for minorities. But this society propped them up, gave them money, put them on TV and Congressional Members even introduced a bill to honor them.

I don't know what kind of sickness this is, but it is sick and it's being encouraged. I want to see an in-depth report on this latest 'stunt' and I'd like to see the media call it a crime which was foiled only because a woman, who has since been 'punished', warned the reporter.

103. Something must have happened to make her do what she did.
She has been a good Conservative lackey for quite a while, funded by the Cato Institute and working with O'Keefe, whose history she certainly knew. So, you have to wonder what it was that finally made her refuse to go along with a scheme that she presumably was aware of?

Abbie Boudreau said she 'had dirt on her face and her lip was quivering' when she approached her. She asked her if she was alright. I hope too that she will make more positive decisions for her life, and if anything happened that was a crime, that she will report it and put an end to this behavior once and for all.

Yes, being shunned by a bunch of psychopaths is a blessing, but she apparently was a part of that crowd, most likely looked up to O'Keefe, so it takes a while to get detached from a cult like that.

106. Just read that she has hired a lawyer because of possibly
Edited on Mon Oct-04-10 04:38 AM by sabrina 1
losing her job. She is still on the payroll so far. This was O'Keefe's organization and she was his executive director or something.

He called her to come to MD that day because he 'needed someone there for the stunt'.

She said that the more she thought about it, because she has morals, the more she believed they should not do it. Apparently O'Keefe did not agree with her. She wrote an email, which she has given to CNN, to one of the Funders (she didn't name the funder) telling whoever it was that she felt they had a problem on their hands. Don't know what the response was.

The CNN documentary aired last night included some emails, to prove that O'Keefe was lying when he emailed CNN saying that he didn't like the script when he saw it and 'never for a minute' intended to do it. However the emails demonstrate that he was lying.

The Documentary called 'Right on the Edge' was supposed to be about 'Young Republican Activists and videographers, and featured Breitbart, O'Keefe and a few others. It was literally a love-fest to these creeps except for the inclusion of what happened regarding the 'floating sex trap'.

I don't know what CNN's problem is to be giving these 'journalists' that kind of positive attention. Never once did they even try to question them about their methods, or correct the ACORN story, which is always referred to as O'Keefe's finest moment. Despite the fact that four investigations now have found that the whole thing was a lie.

I wasn't impressed with Abbie Boudreau's journalistic skills either. She seemed to want to appease these dirty tricksters.

Seems like some of the Funders of this movement have friends in the media. So, it looks like there will never be any real investigation or documentary covering the ACORN scam.

Unbelievable.

So glad I don't have cable.

Ugh, too angry to say anything else. Why did Ted Turner leave his network, anyway? It's turned into exactly what he didn't want.

Thanks sabrina, for all the research!

across Breitbart and O'Keefe. Too bad the media didn't feel the same way, we all could have been spared having to deal with them over the past two years. I wonder if Shirley Sherrod will sue Breitbart? I hope she does. The more lawsuits against them, the more it costs them to defend themselves.

20. I absolutely agree with you. He is a sociopath. He has no
boundaries he will not cross. He displays a total disregard for people's rights or feelings. Once he identifies someone as a 'liberal' they become prey to him. And he is getting worse.

But shame on the MSM and especially Democrats in Congress who fed his ego and contributed to the damage he has done.

I too have envisioned reading about him one day in a crime report involving physically harming someone. The more his ego was fed, the more daring he became, the more attention he needed. He appears to have no saving graces, nothing to stop him, he's missing something very essential that would normally reign in the kind of behavior he has demonstrated himself to be capable of.

in movie... he asks. why is that, except the first female, all females are drunks, druggies, fuckin in the bathroom. none have substance. why?

even colbert gets it. i thought that such a relevant question today. movies have females as the peripheral, and all about the entertaining and enhancing the all consuming male play.

it is a message that is sinking into all of us. all we see.

Why would any organization that is not as radical and hate filled as Breitbart's not realize that having successfully destroyed ACORN, with the huge helping hand from cowardly Democrats and other aid organizations, that he would attack other organizations.
And what better targets then MSM who are his business competition?

No one is safe from the Breitbarts and Swift Boaters of the the party of hate. So if MSM and other groups like ACORN do not join together to fight his tactics, he will take them down one by one.

54. I'm still confused
What was the point?
What was the end game?

It sounds to me that he was having wet dreams about Abbie Boudreau, and thought he'd kill two birds with one stone. He could seduce her in a yacht and get him some, and also have a salacious video of the event to auction off at the end.

If so this guy is massively delusional

First is his delusion that he is some kind of irresistible hunk, and she is some kind of 'liberal' slut who will fall for any guy with a boat and bottle of bubbly.

Second, that any reporter, who wants to keep their job would risk throwing it all away for a shag in a boat with a creep.
ESPECIALLY when he arrogantly sets up a video camera in plain sight, not to mention dildos etc. Is this supposed to turn on Abbie...that everything will be recorded and thousands of pubescent boys will get their rocks off on it when it goes viral?

Third, let's say it all went as planned. She was supposed to plead to be let off the boat? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the idea that she willingly got on? And then what? Wouldn't he come out just as creepy as she would come out being some kind of helpless slut?

I still haven't heard any explanation from him or anyone else that makes sense to what the object of the 'stunt' was.

That said,

Diagnostic criteria for 302.84 Sexual Sadism

A. Over a period of at least 6 months, recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving acts (real, not simulated) in which the psychological or physical suffering (including humiliation) of the victim is sexually exciting to the person.

B. The person has acted on these urges with a nonconsenting person, or the sexual urges or fantasies cause marked distress or interpersonal difficulty.

I think it would since they stupidly wrote down their plans about making her feel so intimidated she would beg to be let go. Since she was warned in advance and the scheme failed, I don't know what kind of charges could be filed against them. It was definitely threatening to any woman to know that someone was preparing something like this to lure and seduce her against her wishes.

92. That's how they work. Breitbart and his cohorts 'make' a story
up, then send it to Fox, Drudge and to all their Rightwing contacts. The MSM picks it up, like ACORN and Shirley Sherrod eg, and no one apparently fact-checks their garbage.

Fox still hasn't mentioned this latest crime. I am certain they were waiting for the video and knew all about it. Someone needs to do an investigation into this hi-jacking of U.S. journalism and expose the funders so that people will never again take anything they see on Fox seriously.

99. Unbelievable. They don't think much of the MSM's fact-checkers
either, but then why would they? No one fact-checked the ACORN videos until it was way too late.

And this what Fox called 'the journalism of the future'!

Anyone got the latest on that espionage crime he was involved with?

87. Hey, Sabrina!

Have you seen the video of Abbie explaining what led up to her finding out about what was about to happen? She filmed it on her handycam just after she narrowly escaped from walking into his rape den. Hearing her explain what went on and reading the accompanying document made my stomach turn. He is a very dangerous psychopath who needs to be locked up for a very long time.

I actually uploaded it to YouTube as it wasn't on there when I went to look for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-uc_wgFl24

:hi:

(edited to fix the 1st link, it took you to halfway down the thread for some reason)

And it seems she has all the evidence she needs.

100. She does, but CNN doesn't seem inclined to pursue this as a
possible criminal matter. The question is why was CNN doing a documentary on this 'movement' started decades ago by far right wingnuts, 'The Republican Noise Machine', which have no stantards whatsoever and whose main goal from its inception was to destroy Liberalism in the U.S. If the real history of this rotten movement is not revealed in their Documentary, then it is just more promotion from CNN for a dangerous trend in the U.S. that is anything but 'patriotic' as they claim.

We are screwn, to put it mildly. Here is a golden opportunity to finally put an end to this gutter journalism which gave this country Fox and Rove and all the evil elements that have torn down all standards of real journalism without which no Democracy can survive.

94. Hi Turbo!
I did see the video. It was like watching someone escaping from an attack.

Have you seen the 'script' and the list of 'props' they had? It is an example of some very sick minds.

Thanks for the links, and for putting it on utube. Going to check them all out now.
