Canadian prostitution laws loosen up

Bout time. Forcing women into dark alleys is not doing anyone any favours.

1. Definitely interested in hearing how Harper reacts to this
I'm expecting a nice War On The Judicary to occupy the airwaves for a little while, alas. I'm happy to hear about the ruling (and surprised at its scope), but I worry about the reaction to it.

2. Harper can't win anything these days, so it'll be interesting to see for certain

4. I expect to see a phrase like "legislating from the bench" sometime tomorrow
Or possibly "unelected judiciary." Harper and Day pulled both of those out when the courts started OKing gay marriage.

Of course, striking down laws as unconstitutional is more complex here than in the States, so there's the annoying possibility that he might try to simply ignore the ruling.

5. "Activist court" Yeah, likely something like that
They really are hanging themselves by not understanding the country they are in. They honestly believe that most Canadians think like them, and that's not the case.
