Rahm can't move back to Chicago home. Tenant won't let him live in basement.
As a DC figure, Rahm hasn't been a full time Chicago resident for many years. He's having a little trouble moving back. The tenant currently living there just signed a two year lease.

http://www.suntimes.com/news/sneed/2752062,CST-NWS-SNEED28.article

Sneed hears an effort by Chicago mayoral hopeful Rahm Emanuel to move back into his North Side home next month was axed by the man who leased it.

• The kicker: Sneed also hears rumbles there was a nixed request for Rahm to move into the basement of his leased home if the tenant didn't move out.

..."I'm told Rahm and a close lawyer friend made several polite phone calls to Halpin last week, but he bumped up against the wrong guy," said a top Sneed source. "Halpin reportedly conducts his business from the house and his two kids are in school. He doesn't want to move."

In a telephone interview, Halpin, who described himself as an industrial real estate developer in the midst of heading to Louisville on business Monday, told Sneed: "Look, according to the lease I am not allowed to speak to the media about the house. But I can tell you I have no plans to move."

2. Move in with the folks - it's the Freeper model of 'mobility' & 'dignitude'

If living in the basement of the Parental Unit's home works for freeper shirkers, it could work for the Rahmster as well...

14. I don't care if he's Warren Fucking Buffet
I just don't want anything to stand in the way of Rahm Emanuel leaving the White House as soon as possible.

If the vacancy of the house is a deal breaker for Rahm it's worth a few bucks to me to make it vacant.

13. He's just a government employee on a fixed income
The poor guy can't move back home. Maybe there's a nice gay couple that could rent him a room? No, scratch that. How about a working person who'd like to join a union? Oops, there might be some unpleasantness over EFCA. Moving on. A school teacher who needs to supplement his income so he can buy basic classroom supplies? Uh oh. Hmmm. This might be tougher than I thought.

23. ?
I'm not a big fan of Rahm, but has he done something to anger environmental activists in particular? I thought he had a pretty standard pro-environment voting record in Congress.

16. Jaysuz Keerist People. Read between the lines!
" The kicker: Sneed also hears rumbles there was a nixed request for Rahm to move into the basement of his leased home if the tenant didn't move out."

Rahm: Hey Sneed....(wink) (wink) Let me use your basement as proof of residency (wink) (wink) and I'll actually go shack up somewhere else outside of that sh*ithole Chicago. You just (wink) (wink) play along and tell everyone (wink) (twisting arm hard) that I live in the basement...ok?

Which is it? Rahm is a pussy or a ball breaker? Ball breakers don't play nice and pussies don't get what they want. Rahm is a ball breaker. You don't let ball breakers in your home.

Sneed wants nothing to do with Rahm's shenanigans so he told him to piss off.

Anyone here would of done the same had they any sense like Sneed.

19. Um, Michael Sneed is the Columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times Who Reported the Story
and not Rahm's tennant. Sounds like you may need to read the actual lines themselves...

Reading and quoting the wrong guy is like...is like...reading the article and not understanding the point.

Since when is that a problem?

24. Or
Rahm plans to buy a condo downtown where he'll actually live. But, a lot of voters won't like that. They want someone to focus on the neighborhoods.
