Pat Tillman's Brother - I wished he would've just lit those F'in Idiots Up
Friday night on "Real Time with Bill Maher," Tillman's brother Richard discussed his brother's death at length. At one point, after explaining the "gross negligence" and "criminal" judgment of the soldiers who fired at his brother, Richard said, "I wish he would've just lit these fucking idiots up with his own gun, you know. 'Cause he knew that they were shooting at him. I wish he didn't have so much character, and he would've shot his own guys."

"I wish he would have been like, you guys are fucking clowns, and just lit 'em up," he added. The Tillman Story, a documentary about Tillman's tragic death, is in theaters now. Scroll down for the full "Real Time" interview.

1. I still remember how quickly ESPN cut the feed to Pat's funeral
after Richard eulogized him as not being particularly religious.

2. Best video ever.
The Tillman family really has embodied the American spirit. The one that's going to take us into the next century. Yes, Pat Tillman should have fired back. That is the next step in the evolution of this nightmare we're in. That will force the military to be less reckless and careless during the training.

3. Saw the movie and loved the letter from Pat, Sr.
Portion of the letter which Pat's father wrote to Brigadier General Gary M. Jones, who led the Armys investigation into Tillman Jr.s death:

You are a Generalhere is no way a man like you, with your intelligence, education, military experience, responsibilities (primarily for difficult situations), and rank (authority both apparent and real), believes the conclusions reached in the March 31, 2005 Briefing Book. But your signature is on it. I assume, therefore, that you are part of this shameless bullshit.

<...>

The Rangers stand for something to this day, in my mind, the best. None of the five (5) soldiers on the ground, nor anyone in a discretionary capacity involved in the Briefing Book, deserve to be affiliated with the Rangers. If your uniforms are so decorated, you should remove those items.

In sum: Fuck you and yours.

Sincerely,

Patrick K. Tillman
