Lost his job and unemployment ran outCLEVELAND - David Nocks lost his job at a Northeast Ohio warehouse at the beginning of the year, and then in May, was forced to move into a tent after his unemployment benefits came to an end.
Nocks served our country in the U.S. Navy for five years, and now a host of agencies are trying to find him permanent housing.
Nocks said he lost his home after there were delays in his veterans benefits. He said the delays were caused while he was waiting for copies of his a Navy discharge papers.
Nocks said he felt fortunate that he is getting help with food, hot showers and clothing. He hopes MHS Veterans Outreach or Catholic Charities will find him permanent housing before the cold weather really sets in.
"Finding a job has been tough, I have experience as a tow motor operator and have worked in many warehouses," Nocks said.
"I expect more people, and even families, to be homeless in the coming months," Nocks told 5 On Your Side Troubleshooter Joe Pagonakis.
