Hey, mods, hey DU big shots - Let us keep the Donkey Smilies!!!!
:dem:

and

:kick:

That is the symbolism I identify with, not that weak blue "circle D" shit...Hell, it's not even a strong color, kind of a moderate blue that is designed to not be offensive...

If that is symbolic of the "new" Democratic Party, I'm sorry for you young people who will have to live with it. I urge you to make your feelings known to the party leadership - if you think it sucks, tell them.

After all, they are supposed to represent US!

2. What the hell are you talking about?

"kind of a moderate blue that is designed to not be offensive..."
Is there a double super secret list of offensive shades of colors that we need to be on the look out for so that we don't offend the overly sensitive?

Who comes up with this stuff?

As far as the Democratic Party logo, I don't like it. It needs a bolder look.

But carefully dancing around what shade should be used so as not to offend someone? Some people have way too much time on their hands.

Edited for spelling

3. That's called institutional blue, it represents career dems
One of my first thoughts was the person that designed the logo went to North Carolina!

8. At first I was going to say that is not Carolina blue, but
the D inside the circle does look like Carolina blue...only slightly darker.

I hope you are referring to the sports teams and not the state. Our Democratic Party here in NC is pretty progressive. I'm not saying we don't have tons of conservadems too, but we do have some kickass progressive Democrats here. We went blue in 2008...15 electoral college votes worth of blue. I'm still beaming. :)

6. What makes you think they're going away?

If you have some information, please let us know. I just checked, and they're still there. The new logo isn't. Some of us have made our own. Unrecced for being nonsense.
