More House Democrats call for tax cuts for all
Edited on Wed Sep-15-10 11:32 PM by defendandprotect
By LAURIE KELLMAN, Associated Press Writer Laurie Kellman, Associated Press Writer – Wed Sep 15, 9:23 pm ET
WASHINGTON – More Democrats joined Republicans on Wednesday in calling for the preservation of tax breaks for Americans of every income level, bolting this election season from President Barack Obama's plan to preserve cuts for families who earn less than $250,000 and let taxes rise for the wealthiest Americans. But Obama placed the blame for the stalled proposal squarely on Republicans.

"They want to hold these middle class tax cuts hostage until they get an additional tax cut for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans," the president said in afternoon remarks.

"Doesn't it make sense for us to move forward with the tax cuts that we all agree on?" Obama added. "We should be able to extend, right now, middle-class tax relief on the first $250,000 of income."

Nervous Democrats are among those with concerns about the president's plan.

More "fear-based" reasoning by Democrats -- or more pro-wealthy reasoning by Democrats?

3. The names mentioned in the article are both fucking Blue Dog fraidy-cats.
This right here is why legislation keeps getting watered down--these guys. They piss on every good bill that goes through the House, where thankfully there are no filibusters, only to have a weaker version reach the Senate--where it gets watered down even further by pissant Blue Dog Senators and to appease one or two "moderate" Republicans.

Obama could scream at these guys until he lost his voice, but ultimately they're going to follow the money and whatever they think will help them get reelected.

4. Indeed, Sir: These Cowards Will Likely Be Gone Whatever Vote They Cast
So they might as well vote right, and get some respect, at least.

There is no reason whatever to take their advice on Party policy for a national election.

6. GOP dedicated themselves to ousting their own liberals, moderates ....
we should do the same -- and seriously work to replace these pro-corporate Blue

Dogs with LIBERAL/PROGRESSIVE Democrats.
