Silence, and a time to reflect. Then move on with your day IMO would
be a most appropriate way to pay homage to those lost on 9-11. No more exploitation, fiery speeches or wannabes getting in front of a camera, etc. 9-11 has become a major activity for the silly season and it's disgusting. Go to Mass, Church, Temple, whatever, or stand on a street corner and just reflect then move on. My tv will be off, I shall remember in my own way and avoid the screeching and hyperbole that some see as a fitting tribute...Ugh.

1. I'll be donating blood...
I'm a O-, so I'm a regular at the blood bank anyway, but it's an appropriate day.
Doubly so since San Bruno is just across the bay from me...

2. Screw that! We need to get loud and angry....
especially about the travesties our own government has committed against its own people using 9/11 as justification.

5. Do what you must--but what makes your misplaced vitriol more noble than those who are
plainning to exploit innocent victims?

6. Being angry for being DUPED by the government is "misplaced vitriol"?
I would think that you and I are on the same side of this.

7. Maybe not--but maybe you could get angry on a DIFFERENT day.
Picking the anniversary is exploiting what happened for political purposes--which is exactly what the haters are planning to do.

I find it vile, but your mileage may vary.

3. 9/11 was a horrible tool for hate/war mongers to facilitate their agenda
of course each year, they're going to try to get a few more miles out of the pain, fear, and loathing.

4. Exactly. I'll commemorate it just as I do Pearl Harbor Day
in which a great uncle died. A moment of reflection, a silent prayer--then I'll take my son to archery training as I do every Saturday.

9. How's 'bout we all just decide for ourselves
300 million people, there might be a variety of "appropriate" ways.
