Blair: Cheney wanted to invade Syria and Iran

The chickenhawk couldn't get enough of war, provided someone else's kid was on the front line. Imagine the possibilities of more GOP rule in Washington.

Describing the former US vice president as an advocate of “hard, hard power”, Mr Blair said Damascus was next on Mr Cheney’s hit list.

“He would have worked through the whole lot, Iraq, Syria, Iran, dealing with all their surrogates in the course of it – Hizbollah, Hamas, etc,” Mr Blair wrote in his autobiography, A Journey. “In other words, he thought the whole world had to be made anew, and that after September 11, it had to be done by force and with urgency.”

Syria’s correct assumption that powerful US forces wanted to attack it had profound implications, domestically and in Iraq. Although no friend of Saddam Hussein, Damascus had every reason to want the American occupation to fail and, therefore, no incentive to stop Islamist militants crossing the border to fight US troops.

4. Could you imagine if this would have happened?
We may have been looking at WWII.

It's pathetic the man that got deferrements from Vietnam is so gungho about sending others to fight unpopular wars.

This is why it is important for everyone to get out and vote in Nov this year and 2012. If the Republicans get another chance at the WH and Congress the world as we know it will continue to devolve.

10. There are no major differences between the two parties. It doesn't matter who we elect President.
Just a reminder of what utter bullshit that is.

14. To invade Syria?
As you point out, there are reasons many of us backed a primary candidate like Obama who's to the left of Hillary.

16. I am just bitter about the Democrats that backed the Bush/Cheney war.
They were supposed to restrain the warmongers, but they let our troops down, our nation down and, they let the millions of Iraqi's down that were killed, maimed, wounded and displaced. In some ways they were/are worse than Bush/Cheney. The destroyed my faith in the two party system.

24. I'll always remember
who voted for the war and who failed to show courage when it mattered most. I have a lot of respect for John Kerry for other reasons but he made a horrible decision and it cost him the Presidential election.

Hopefully, the next Republican candidate doesn't pick him to choose the next VP for him/her. I'd be afraid of who he'd choose for VP.

the phone. He may already inhabit her. We just don't know.

29. Dick had a hardon for killing American military professionals.
Sick bastard, had no idea he resented the military that much! No wonder the loser snuck away from serving in the military, I bet he hated the grunts...but until I read that had no idea he was that much of a bastard. He is the reason NORAD is gone...the reason someone poo poo'd our air forces on 9/11.

What a fucking criminal and to think he would have killed off thousands more of our troops...just to make money.
