and also, keep the Senate, and win re-election in 2012. Only one little thing and the people would rally behind him.

What does he need to do?

He needs to let the few Democrats vote with the Republicans to extend the Bush taxcuts.

Then he needs to veto the m***** f*****!!

Then he needs to explain why he did it. He will not permit the Republicans to run up another trillion dollars debt by giving more taxcuts to the wealthy. Let them put that in their pipe and smoke it!

18. Yah sure. Then our Republican/DINO congress will over ride his veto.
Assuming Obama doesn't just go ahead and sign it.

Trust no one with our future, because no one can be trusted.

3. That might work, if people know it is tax cuts for the rich.
However every time someone mentions the tax cuts on TV, they have to add who they are for.

The current media meme is only saying tax cuts, and ignoring who they are for. A form of deception.

Spreading the cost of the wars across the higher income classes, is a very common sense idea, as is spreading paying for social security.

All that has to happen is for people to realize billionaires do not earn their money, they are given it by a flaw in the system, and progressive taxes fix that flaw.

9. Send it back to the House with instructions...
"Send me a bill without the taxcuts for the wealthy and I will sign it. I want the Democrats united on this vote. I want it on my desk in two weeks. The American people will know where the Republicans stand."

20. Pass it in the next session of Congress...
And dare the Repubs to oppose taxcuts for 98% of Americans because they want some more goodies for their wealthy friends. What's the big deal?

22. You think we will keep the house and increase to 60 votes in the Senate?
Without both of those I don't think the repubs will do just the middle income extensions. It looks like an all or nothing deal to me.

17. "billionaires do not earn their money" - reminds me of one of my favorite quotes...

"capital is the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed"

- Abraham Lincoln

"labor is prior to, and independent of, capital; that, in fact, capital is the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed; that labor can exist without capital, but that capital could never have existed without labor. Hence they hold that labor is the superior – greatly the superior – of capital" - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, September 30, 1859

6. Sounds interesting but
he might also produce an easily understood presentation that demonstrates just how impressive the decline in Social Security funds would have been if they had been privatized these past few years. I was nearing retirement age and would have paid attention to such a presentation. Currently I feel that the retirement age will be set as a flexible item under changes recommended by the current commission. We will be eligible to apply for SS benefits the day after we expire.

10. The tax cuts will expire 12/31/2010
and it can't come fast enough.

What Obama and all Democrats need to do is, explain who those cuts were for and what impact they've had on our Country.

11. But the Repubs are going to push hard for extension....
after the Labor Day vacation is over.

If a few Democrats do go along, they could pass a bill to extend it. That is why Obama needs to warn them ahead of the vote that he will veto it.

there will be NO bill offered by either party to do that. And that's the facts.

13. So...
If the Repubs can get enough Democrats to go along with them, they will not push to extend the Bush taxcuts?? I think this will be their main issue between now and election.

midterm elections have small turnout either way, infrequent apolitical voters will stay home

15. The narrative should be: Recovering Stolen Funds from Banksters, Using for MASSIVE Jobs Program

U.S. Recovery Act

Go after the banksters who have driven us into this ditch, and who continue to run a con game against all of us, all the while demanding bigger BONUSES :puke:

Guaranteed, this would be hugely popular, and get many americans to the polls, Dems, Repubs, and Indy. :bounce:

he could follow that up with, a revamped globalization policy...

Almost half of all Republicans oppose the taxcuts for the wealthy and almost all Democrats. A huge majority oppose extending the taxcuts for the wealthy.

The Republicans want to sabotage the entire bill if they cannot get the wealthy an extension. Do you agree with that tactic?

26. WRONG.
Fox News keeps pushing this falsehood. They flat out LIE about *who* these tax cuts affect - when in fact the Bush tax cuts favor the upper 3 percent -- the uber elites.
