You know, to actually unify and work together for the common good?

Another 9/11? Another World War? Invasion from space? Anything?

3. Since we differ so widely on what is considered "the common good"..
Honestly I don't think it's possible to unite us.

Look at what happened after 9/11, the Bushie administration took advantage of the docility of the population and the legislature to do some truly horrid things that are now coming back to haunt us.

4. Hmmm...let's see...
Lots of jumping up and down, ranting and raving, insults, confrontation, "re-education", rudeness and generally obnoxious behavior. From both sides.

That always works...

:freak:

8. "to actually unify and work together for the common good?"
The present evidence suggests that Americans will only unify to work for the common evil.

10. Yes indeed! Another "burning of the Reichstag" ought to do it.
Then it'll be all "America! Fuck yeah!!" again.
