Not my president
I came across that phrase in a post today on some other website, a post from an obvious rightwinger.

Two observations.

First - Maybe it's my imagination, but there are increasing numbers of RW extremists spending time on liberal or neutral sites simply to spew their hate and demonstrate their stupidity. I know that we - on the right and left - are supposed to communicate with those on the other side rather than spend time only in our own universe and therefore have our own views confirmed and reaffirmed by like-minded souls. But I have tell you that I cannot stomach the bile that the extremists spew. Maybe it's only one these sites and there really are reasonable "republicans," but I just don't think so. And you can be pretty sure that any liberals turning up on the extremist sites would be tombstoned pretty quickly.

Second - We on the left started using the "not my president" meme after 2000 because we believed, and still believe, that * was not elected but rather selected by the Supreme Court. That was not a valid election. (Yeah, yeah, I know. Get over it.) But there was an actual basis in choosing that phrase. It was, of course, validated over 8 years in which policies were set in place to, literally, destroy the United States. In contrast, Barack Obama was elected freely and fairly. We won. They lost. No Supreme Court. No election fraud (well, who knows). Yet, these clowns on the right have co-opted the not my president meme. Do they not have an original thought in their brains? Do they not understand the origin of the phrase?

And, apropos of nothing in particular, I can't wait to read the posts tomorrow regarding what Jon Stewart has called, among other things, the beckapalooza. What a stain these people are on a once-great country!
