Math ends debate over President Obama vacations

A few facts and a basic under stand ing of “more” and “less” will clear up the sub ject of pres i­dents’ vaca tion days.


Dur ing his first year in office, Barack Obama took 26 vaca tion days. Dur ing their first years in office, George W. Bush took 69, Bill Clin ton 21, George H.W. Bush 40, Ronald Rea gan 42 and Jimmy Carter 21.

Trips to Camp David, which were not included as vaca tion days, were: Obama 27 days, George W. Bush, 78 days.

I leave the reader to deter mine more and less.

2. whenever i hear anyone say anything about obama taking vacations i just say

how much time did george w bush spend on vacation? he spent the month of august on his ranch in 2001. as far as i can tell, the obamas have mostly taken weekend vacations. then i ask where was this concern about vacations for the eight years bush was president and spent like 3 years of that on vacations?

Barack Obama's Trek: $500 (a regular-joe kind of ride)

GWB's Trek: $3100 (high-end full-suspension carbon race bike, 6x the cost of Obama's)

So tell me again, which pResident is the lavish, glitzy spender; and which President is more like the everyday working American?

We need bold flashy graphics and animations with pictures of presidents heads and slide shows of the places they've been. All done really fast and glitzy. Don't forget the breathless commen-tators voice overs and snippits of popular pop music.
