Please STOP with the gibbs business. The whining has to stop!
GIBBS IS RIGHT!!!! Again, WE DO NOT HAVE A MAJORITY IN THE SENATE!!!!!! No matter how many times you and your ilk are told that, no matter how much evidence is presented as a cold hard slap in the face, you STILL DON'T GET IT!!! I can't figure out the reason for the life of me. Are those that bitch the most no matter what former Kucinich or Hillary supporters that are still angry? Do some on the left have an issue with race deep down and cloak that racism in ridiculous arguments with no foundation! Boy I hope not, but one must wonder!

Again, the dems DO NOT have a majority in the senate!!!! If we did, we would at least have a public option and maybe medicare for all as an example. So what, would you rather have Obama do NOTHING than to try and at least take a small step in the right direction?? All you people are accomplishing is an almost guarantee that Obama will have to deal with a new senate majority leader from the right and possibly a new burnt orange colored speaker of the house!!! Maybe if you'd tout what has been done instead of whining, we would get a bigger majority in the fall!!! Some dems have an uncanny way of shooting progress in the foot!!!!

1. Racism is not a rediculous arguement.
But being racist is rediculous.

Expose the non democrats, their is a problem with having people not supporting your party in your party, they make it seem like the whole party can't get things done.

24. That my dear is why they are thinking of breaking the filibuster
by the way... since you seem to be up on it, and assuming we keep that majority in November, what obscure procedure are they planning to use? Leaked out by the way.

But technically you are damn wrong. We have the majority. And when the SENATE WORKS, the Fillibuster is used rarely.

79. I noticed that you have not answered what
OBSCURE PROCEDURE they intend to use in January.

If you are so up on it I guess you would tell us again what it is.

So I will tell you, AGAIN... dear

When they meet in January, before they vote on the rules for that session, they will vote on a priviledge resolution lowering the fillibuster from 60 to 55. I prefer they voted on making it again, the stand in front of the senate and read the white pages, until you pass out and that stops it. But that is just me.

Oh the last time they did that was in the 1970s, going from 75 to 60, and that was also a Democratic Senate.

So you gonna continue accusing us of not getting it? Or are you going to drop the over the top rhetoric. We do have a majority. You want to use exact language... ineffectual majority is the term you are looking for.

Talk about those who are ignorant of the language. But by anybody's math... they have a majority.

50. Nadin! How DARE you TELL THE TRUTH? Only Repigs need a 50 vote majority. Dems need 98 and don't
tell me it's not 50. Joe Biden casts deciding vote. We need FIFTY. 5-0. That's it. Ben Nelson should be told we'll cut off all funds. LET HIM GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I am sure a moderate repig might want his chairmanship.

Oh, and dems probably need all one hundred. And then, they'd *still* act like surrender monkeys.

I gave quite a few possible scenarios for intentionally ignoring the obvious when it comes to getting anything through. Covert and maybe repressed racism was only one. You chose to focus on that.

If you want more done, work on getting more TRUE DEMOCRATS in the Senate!!!

I can always tell a bully by use of that term to dismiss complaints and objections. You can't hear DUers' voices; you're just reading their words. People always use "whine" to refer to complaints and objections they don't agree with. If I were a bully I'd say you were whining about people criticizing Gibbs. But I'm not, so will just say: those who use terms intended to infantilize, and thereby humiliate, their opponents are revealing their lack of intelligent arguments.

Ok master, what obscuse (and this is really obscure)
procedure are they thinking to use to take it down to 55?

Bonus question where in the Constitution is the Filibuster?

But technically, we HAVE THE FUCKING MAJORITY. So get over yourself.

Answer to the rest of the class.

1.- When the Senate first meets it is rules free. It can vote new rules in. The last time it was done was 1975 when it went from 75 to 60.

Bonus question, the filibuster is NOWHERE in the US Constitution, and at one time it required an active, as in stand in front and blab, procedure... which has not been used since the 1980s.

And you are STILL WRONG. We STILL HAVE THE MAJORITY.

Condescending etcetera.

91. The only ignorance I see is YOURS. Calling people who worked for Obama and donated to Obama racist
is beyond reprehensible. Equating people on the left who disagree with some of Obama's policies with the right wing is childish and divisive.

If you're a grandfather/mother, it's way past time you learned not to behave like a petulant child.

However, since you haven't learned, I'll treat you like a petulant child and put you on ignore.

51. ..."you and your ilk..."
You mean, we Democratic voters, who, y'know...actually expected the President to work to provide what he promised? That "ilk"?

BTW, you do remember that Shrub didn't seem to have trouble getting things done with a lesser majority, so the whole "no majority" talking point falls flat, yet again.

68. "you and your ilk"
That's an odd term isn't it? Aside from the OP the only person I've ever heard use the phrase is Rush Limbaugh.

Along with hinting at racism and throwing in a line that includes a barb about "you people" this guy only succeeds at making a hyperventilating fool of himself. Don't waste your time.

and donated much more money than I could afford to his campaign. Sorry if that doesn't fit your broad brush.

96. No, you don't get it!
No matter what the numbers are in the Senate, I can guarantee you that many of us "whiners" would be cheering Obama if he would have at least TRIED to fight for us. With regard to just one issue...Health Care... He could have gone to congress with a list of things that had to be in the final health care bill - including a public option that anyone could buy into, and then said "here, figure out how to make all this work...but make it work"..rather than telling Congress to come up with whatever they wanted and then water it down and water it down into something that can't even be called "reform".
If he had even put the screws to Ben Nelson and Blanche Lincoln and Kent Conrad and all the others...and told them that he had to have their vote on this bill....that would have helped. But he didn't.
He's spent too much time trying to appease the right and they've given him nothing in return...not one vote...not to mention non-stop obstruction. If he thinks that turning his back on the left in order to reach out to the right will endear him to repub voters....I think he might be the one who needs a drug test.
